Great Location, Great HotelPosted Mar 2, 2014
Location: Great place to base yourself. Close to many of the main attractions. Quiet street. Also good for seasoned visitors.
Look no further, this hotel really does tick all the boxes. Great location. Staff are very helpful and there if you need them. My trips are always good and its nice that every stay is the same and the level never changes. The location? around the corner from Times Square, not too close and still quiet. Empire State building is a few mins away and your a short walk from Central Park. Lots of well known restaurant/coffee chains located in the area as well as some little local gems. Jimmys Bar and Grill does a great breakfast and is literally around the corner. Cannot recommend enough.

Lovely hotel, great location and great staff.Posted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: Quiet and friendly atmosphere - from front door to cleaners, everyone was friendly.
Cons: We would prefer to have a bath but this would not put me off selecting this hotel.
Location: Macys, Empire State Building, Bryant park and Times Square all within a shortish walk. Subway also 2 blocks down to take you up or down town.
Lovely small hotel, very friendly and accommodating staff. Quiet and comfortable beds/rooms although room was slightly small. Happy hour was great value also and good atmosphere . We would definitely stay there again. Minor point would be that we would prefer a kettle in the room, however, very good deli opposite for the essential first tea/coffee of the morning.

Excellent hotel, location and staff!Posted Feb 28, 2014
Just returned from a 6-night stay in The Strand Hotel NYC and would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. Amazing hotel - Very modern and spacious. In a great location close to Times Square, Empire State and all major shopping streets. Beautiful throughout; - bedrooms are spacious with all mod cons. Immaculate standards and room was cleaned daily. - bars are beautiful, especially the roof-top bar with amazing views - didn't eat in the hotel but menu looked lovely Staff are very friendly and helpful - especially Carlos who always went above and beyond to help....and always with a smile on his face :D

Great location....Posted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Everything, easy going helpful staff, lovely room, good food, etc.
Cons: We found the breakfast service was a bit slow.
Location: What's there not to do in Mid Town NY !!
The Strand sits nestled within NY's high rise just of 5th Ave on 37th West in Mid Town, just a few easy yards from most sights and connections. The roof top bar and it's view of the Empire State Building really is something to behold! and the ambiance is just great. We visited NY for our 50th birthdays and loved every single minute :-)

Reasonable nyc hotelPosted Feb 26, 2014
It was a reasonably priced hotel, near the center of action. Good place to stay on the weekend with ample street parking. Hotel itself was average. Clean with fairly nice staff. I think it could use a little more updating. I would recommend to a friend only if you are getting a reasonable deal.

Great location + friendly staff.Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Location + quality of the rooms we were given
Location: Located 10 minutes from Times Square, Empire State, NY Public Library, Macy's, MOMA, and great eating places.
We asked for two rooms close together on a high floor overlooking the Empire State building and that is exactly what we were given.

Top class hotel for a reasonable procePosted Feb 25, 2014
Our stay was short but lovely. The staff was friendly and engaging, always going a little farther than asked to be helpful. The continental breakfast was delightful, and the ambience of the restaurant alone was worth the visit. We asked about parking on our arrriv and the bell man was extremely helpful in giving us a basic lay of the parking situation in NYC (rather than the typical response of just recommending valet). We look forward to staying again.
