Vielen Dank

Nice hotel centrally located in MidTown SouthPosted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location, staff.
Location: Near Grand Central, Time Square, Empire State building, etc.
We had a great visit to this hotel. Upon checking in they offered us an upgrade to a higher floor with a view of the Empire State Building. We told them it was my wife's surprise 40th birthday and they sent a complimentary bottle of wine to the room. The hotel bar on the roof was nice and drinks were good. The rooms are small but comfortable and the staff was very pleasant. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Nice and close.Posted Jul 21, 2015
The Strand was a very nice hotel, clean, and the staff were very nice. The bouncer at the roof top bar was awesome, we had lots of laughs, we had lots of fun there. Also the location was perfect for getting to the spots we wanted to see. It was very easy to get anywhere down town, Empire state Building, Rockefeller Center, Time Square, and easy to get on subway to get to Battery Park. We did do a lot of walking, around 25miles in two days also so plan on bringing good walking shoes :)

The StrandPosted Jul 13, 2015
The Roof Top Bar has breathtaking views! The staff was very eager to please and suggested many great restaurants nearby. The location makes it easy to get to get to several different attractions with only a 3 to 10 minute walk. I look forward to returning to New York and will plan to stay at The Strand again. Great experience not sure that it could have been any better!

Granddaughters graduation presentPosted Jul 13, 2015
My granddaughter and I arrived early and were given a lovely king room with pull out sofa. The staff was super nice. I love the Fifth Avenue location. All went well but I was disappointed that she was not allowed to join me on the famous roof deck.

excellent staff overcome any deficienciesPosted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: centrally located
Location: Avenue of the Americas, Central Park, Herald Square, Times Square etc. all within reasonable walking distance
Our rooms were wonderful and our stay was great. The hotel is centrally located. We did not have breakfast included, though the two neighboring hotels do offer that as standard. Also, the bathroom door in one room kept falling off the track. But the manager went out of his way to make us feel welcomed.

Comfortable Hotel for New York Sight-Seeing.Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Central position in Manhatten. The staff all really helpful and friendly. The excellent (served) breakfasts. Comfortable room & super ensuite
Cons: No evening dinner restaurant meals were served on a Saturday.
Location: Centrally placed, a hotdog's throw from The Empire State. 15 minutes walk to Times Square. Walking distance from Central Park - and many sights.
My wife and I stayed at The Strand about four years ago for a brief stay and this time, after doing our usual pre-booking search across many possible hotels, we decided that The Strand was our best bet. Good hotels in central New York are all quite expensive or very expensive. We booked and paid in good time and were, at that time, lucky to receive a discount from the hotel and ALSO from Expedia - so the financial pain was eased. We were, in the end, very happy with our stay at The Strand. It has a boutique feel about it. Everything was spotlessly clean and we were well looked-after.
