Wonderful and memorable stay.

The hotel location couldn't be more perfect- restaurants, shopping, museums and Central Park at our door. The hotel staff are friendly, welcoming and so eager to assist. The room was clean. The bed so comfy. The bathroom wonderful, especially the shower. Best hotel I ever stayed at in Manhattan.

Stay at The Lowell

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Have wanted to stay here many times. Disappointing for a Relaix & Chateau property. Room was a cubbyhole with adjoining door. Through that door your experience became a community one with your guest neighbor. Snoring, sneezing, television preferences and dining all courtesy of The Surrey. Hallwaus were very narrow and in 6 days, I stepped over 5 room service trays on the floor. Not going to be a repeat guest. Stay at the Lowell - far more elegant, discreet, quiet with impeccable staff and service

True 5 star hotel!

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Style
Location: Park location
Amazing park location hotel, lovely neighbourhood . Hotel was just where we wanted to be but poss a little too far away from the action for some, we did walk to Times Square but took us 45 mins. Taxis are cheap tho so no need to worry. Would def stay here again.

Cons: free wifi in rooms
fantastic location right next door to central park and brilliant shops outside your door. The best bed In have ever slept in and a fabulous shower. Amazing roof top bar with spectacular views you absolutely cant go wrong with this hotel. Minor hiccups rectified immediately by Management. I will be coming back.

Good choice for a boutique hotel

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: location, staff, bathroom
We were very pleased with the quiet location. The doormen, all of them could not have been nicer and more efficient. We were walking a few blocks and the doorman insisted he provide an umbrella just in case. The room was very nice, but the bathroom was outstanding. The shower was really a standout, with great water pressure from the rain style shower head. Everything was immaculately clean and every member of the staff we dealt with, from doormen, front desk, and housekeeping were wonderful.

The Surrey Hotel

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Stayed here for six nights and had a great time. Staff were always helpful and incredibly polite. Area is quiet, very close to Central Park, and has a variety of boutiques, pharmacies, thrift stores, restaurants, diners etc within a few blocks. We used the 6 train subway most days (about four blocks away), and buses are easy to get to as well. Would very happily stay here again.

A class act in a great town

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Wonderful large room, with a great NY outlook to a series of great buildings and streetscapes; great decor and bathroom, without being over the top.
Cons: The coffee on offer from 5 am in the foyer was a great idea but the coffee needed to be improved, and the staff could be more friendly and helpful.
Location: Madison Avenue, Central Park, lots of museums, a quiet street for NYC, great location.
The Surrey is not cheap but the location and style are excellent, giving a great New York experience overall, with near faultless service.
