Beautiful hotel

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: The room, the lobby, the restaurant, everything
Location: Good location, walked to many places
We were offered a n upgrade to a suite for a little extra money. We had a large bedroom, separate living room and two bathrooms. The stay was excellent. Wished I had been able to stay longer.

Not good

Posted Jan 23, 2015
It needs remodeling. It takes 10 minutes to get hot water in the shower and then you run out of it. One of the towels had a red spot and so the curtain in the super tiny bathroom.

Hoje está velho, cama desconfortável, aparência envelhecida sem o conforto que deveria oferecer, apenas o hall de entrada q continua bonito

Dear Eduard, Thank goodness for our impressive lobby and the inspirational setting. Yet obviously we cannot be resting on those aspects. Most disappointing to read the issues with your room appointment. We will keep your concerns in mind as we continually evolve to best meet and exceed our guests' needs and hope you will give us another opportunity to impress should you return to the city in the future. Dear Tony, Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay. Indeed, our suites are the finest accommodations at the Waldorf Astoria. Many of our guests book standard room appointments and expect to receive the best of the best that we have to offer. As I think you captured, these room are fine and clean, but not awe-inspiring the way we hope our Presidential and luxury suites can be. We hope to welcome you back for a repeat visit in the future, and thank you again for taking the time to submit your feedback! Great deal on great room

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Check in was delayed a little bit to make sure we had a non-smoking room, but we were given free drinks at the lobby bar and an apology.
Location: The midtown location on Park and 49th was very convenient for our interests in NYC
We noticed a large discount on a "Signature Suite" (probably associated with the winter weather) and decided to splurge. Everything about it was great. Thanks for alerting us to this.

Great location but very busy

Posted Jan 17, 2015
Pros: Location, historic lobby
Cons: Remove Sunday brunch from the busy lobby
Location: Quick walk to the Rockefeller Center or Grand Central Station
Hotel is very centrally located and has a beautiful and elegant Art Deco lobby with adjoining corridors. There, on various displays you can learn more about the hotel’s history and its famous former guests. The lobby however is hard to enjoy as it is usually crowded with people passing by or waiting to meet their parties. There seems to be a good amount of special events and business meetings going on in addition to normal hotel operations. During our stay there were long lines for check-in and check-out. Express checkout via TV in the room was not available on the last day when needed. On top of that, on Sunday the lunch buffet setup invaded half of the already busy lobby space. Most of the time the place felt like Grand Central Station at rush hour. Room itself on the 23rd floor was fine but relatively small and nothing spectacular compared to, say, leading Asian hotels. Our windows did not face the street or the city skyline but a rather non-inspiring gray wall of the other hotel wing. Through the thin room walls we could hear a noisy family with children apparently not being able to sleep but having a good time from 3am on. Wall thermostat seemed to have had a mind of its own and worked best when completely turned off. There were very few electric wall outlets where you could charge your phone or a tablet. Internet in the room was not free (extra $18 if I recall). Front door staff is always busy with taxis so don’t expect anyone to open the door for you. I admit that may

Dear Chris, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments regarding your recent experience at our iconic hotel. We do run occupancies similar to your assessment, but it is not a birthright and we want to earn it every day. No one wants to feel like just a number in a long line of guests, and I apologize if you were made to feel this way during your visit. Please know that we truly appreciate your business and you taking the time to express your satisfaction. We hope for the opportunity to show you what a 5-star luxury experience at the Waldorf Astoria New York looks and feels like on a future visit to our beautiful city. Beautiful historic hotel.

Posted Jan 17, 2015
Pros: Location and ambiance- loved it.
Cons: Check in. We were dropped off in the covered garage and no one was there to tell us where to go. We went thru the wrong doors. Not good.
Location: Shopping, restaurants, coffee, Grand Central, Times Square in walking distance.
Great location- we were within walking distance to most of the things we needed. Taxis easily found- restaurants close and delicious. This was a treat for my daughter's and her best friend's 21st birthday. Loved this hotel!

Nice Stay

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Spacious Rooms
Cons: Customer Service at check in & check out. Please make sure you have proper staff to accommodate many passengers checking in and out at once.
Location: Grand Central Station, Times Square, Central Park, Broadway, Chrysler Building, Hemsley Building,
We stayed for one night on business and enjoyed our time very much. I do feel the lady at reception is told to try to up sell the guests. We arrived at the hotel at 11:55am for our 12pm check in and were told that our room was not ready. If we wanted to upgrade to a suite for an additional cost we could get a room right away. It is hard to believe that a hotel with 1000 rooms did not have a room available on a Wednesday morning in one of their standard rooms. My other minor complaint is the very high hourly late check out fee imposed by the hotel. Again with all the rooms the hotel has, perhaps consider reducing the hourly late check out fee and focus more on pleasing the client. All the porters, cleaning staff and bell boys are great and work very hard for their tips. Please always remember to take care of those who take care of you. As for location, it is perfect. Within walking distance to all the main attractions, fantastic restaurants and subway if you plan to explore the wonderful city of New York. As for airport transfers, there are many black escalades parked outside that offer discount rates to and from the airport. Look for the Bulgarian Lady driver, she is by far the best driver we have ever had!

Thank you for your detailed review! I must share that our check-in time is actually 3 pm, not 12 pm as noted in your review, though I am pleased that you were able to enter your room early anyway. The next time you are in the area, I hope you will return to our hotel so we can deliver the unparalleled service experience you deserve.
