Fantastic hotel

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Pros: The Art Deco period. The service from all staff. The location - very central.
Cons: Nothing. I love it as it is.
Location: Very central. Chrysler building, Grand Central Station, Channin Building, 5th Avenue.- everything within walking distance.
When we arrived at the Waldorf Astoria in New York it was just as we expected. The hotel is beautiful and full of Art Deco antiques. We stayed in a Signature Suite and we were very impressed. It was very large - HALLWAY, LOUNGE,BEDROOM, DRESSING ROOM and the bathroom was as big as a bedroom in most hotels. I felt that I was in Art Deco heaven. Loved it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Made our stay in New York memorable. The breakfast was fantastic.

not what i pay for

Posted Dec 24, 2014
I got a reservation from expedia for 329 dollars per night for king size bed room. They gave me a Queen size bed and when i check out, the charge was 349 dollars!!! I call the guest service for 4 times, and the guy that finally answered was rude and told me that he could not do anything about that, and i should talk to the manager. I tried a few times with no success.

Good location near to Radio City Music Hall & Saks

Posted Dec 24, 2014
Pros: Beautiful lobby, historic pictures, good lobby bar
Cons: Taxi lets you off under the building and it is hard to find the lobby so internal directions would be helpful.
Location: St. Patricks Church, Radio City Music, Saks, Rockefeller Center
Our only problem was that we could not regulate the thermostadt

Excellent location, nice hotel, friendly staff

Was disappointed at check in when I saw there were not enough sets of towels in our room for the number of travelers on our itinerary - very small detail, but for the price we paid, we expected attention to all detail. Valet parking fee is a ripoff. Otherwise hotel is beautiful, the location couldn't be better, and the staff is great. Recommend it!

Hotel lives up to its name

Amazing city break - saw all the sights, enjoyed the comfort of the Waldorf and would recommend a trip to New York to anyone. Just wish we'd done a bit of homework of where to go for a drink in the evening that wouldn't cost us $40 for 2 drinks!!!!

Beautiful hotel, central location

Posted Dec 21, 2014
Pros: The architecture, character and its central location
Cons: Bar could be less pricey!
Location: Best tip is buy a New York City Pass. Nearest attractions: Grand Central Station and the Oyster Bar, Rockefeller Centre and Top of the Rock
The hotel is an experience in itself, lovely art deco character, the main lobby and reception area were just gorgeous. As you would expect in a deluxe hotel the bar prices were very expensive. We received a bill that included mini bar items although we had not taken anything from the mini bar, however this was rectified without any dispute

Five star hotel that lives up to its reputation. Restaurants were prices, but that is to be expected. Staff was wonderful.

Pretty hotel near all the holiday windows and displays and I have to say whatever they're pumping through the air ducts smells amazing. Unfortunately we had a problem with housekeeping/unclean bathroom enough that we would not return to this hotel....
