Love the location

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: bed, decor, staff
Cons: some of the lobby bathrooms need updating
Only 2 blocks from Saks...perfect!! I loved the room because it's bathroom was down the hall from the bedroom and gave privacy.

The Presidents Hotel

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Goede service dus.

Nice Hotel walking distance to everything !

Posted Mar 3, 2015
The hotel was really nice. The piano bar was great! The room had a cozy bed and good shower head / the room lacked a coffee pot, fridge and a little extra space. The history behind the hotel was amazing. Don't do the Hilton time share it was way longer then they state and a waste of time :)

Very weary after journey but spirits lifted on arrival. This was my third visit to New York, but, first time at Waldorf Astoria. I intend to travel back later in the year and it will be the Waldorf every time.

Tired tatty old lady behind beautiful public areas

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: The beds and pillows were to die for, so comfortable. Large rooms. Beautiful public spaces.
Cons: Tattiness of double room, dirty stained curtains, bathroom. Lighting extremely poor in room (lamps only)
Location: Plenty of restaurants, cabs, very central for walk to Times Sq, Grand central station etc.,
The hotel, outside of the public areas is a tired old lady. Our overall experience was good, the public areas are beautiful, but bell desk staff and receptionists quite arrogant! Concierge desk extremely nice and helpful, bar staff extremely nice, doormen only interested if you're a big tipper! The double room (2 double beds) was large but very tired, mis-matched wallpaper, quite tatty, old furniture (repro), dirty and stained net curtains and the bathroom seal fell off the door on first attempt to open. Nowhere in the bathroom to put clothes/dressing gown etc., Beware when you arrive at the hotel to be told that you have to dress smart casual to enter the reception area?? (No jeans/shorts etc.,) The beds and pillows in the rooms were the most comfortable I have ever slept in! There are no kettles in the room, which is a pain if you like your coffee in the morning! Cleanliness levels were excellent throughout. Extremely expensive to eat or drink in hotel, glass of red wine was about £15.00! We ate out regularly and found lots of good restaurants within a couple of minutes walking distance.

Excellent location

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Previous visits with Expedia were always good
Cons: See above
Location: As above, great location
Stayed at the hotel 7 previous times, however the rooms are now beginning to look and feel very tired our room, a luxury king, certainly was not luxury and it was very noisy - we did complain. The reception staff were rude and frankly useless at sorting out a problem.

Was hoping for better

Posted Feb 28, 2015
The hotel is amazing and the staff was great. The room was what was disappointing. We got the double beds superior room. Room was very small & I could find nothing special about room to make it superior. Also the so called "plush robes" were cheap & definitely not plush, more like terry cloth.. Room seems to need an upgrade.. I know hotel was built a long time ago but some new rugs and some fresh paint, fixtures, & furniture would help a lot, especially with how expensive this room was. Only plus about the room was the beds were very comfortable
