I guess you get what you pay for!

Ok for 200 dollars. Location was great - just a short walk to Times Square. However the room was old and small. Relatively clean with the exception of the condom wrapper we found behind the nightstand. (Noticed it when I was plugging in my phone charger.) Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was modern compared to the rest of the room.

Our choice every time for a NYC break

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Deli next door is great for breakfast. The stroll to the Hudson on a morning is fabulous.
Location: Near Times Square
This was our 6th stay at the Travel Inn. Excellent location near to Port Authority for the bus in from Newark. Easy check in and polite staff. Rooms are fine. They are for sleeping in!

12 minutes from Time Square

Pros: Proximity of time square.
OK hotel. Too bad now they charge 20$/night for the parking. It was free the last time we went.

1st Trip to NY -- just for the day!

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
Location: We walked to Times Square, Empire State Building, took a cab to Ellen's Stardust Diner (only because we weren't sure of it's location & short on time)
Being this was our 1st trip to New York -- I knew nothing, but hit it lucky booking our room at the Travel Inn Hotel. Great location, pleasant staff, comfortable and clean room -- couldn't ask for anything more. (I think I would request a room with a window to the street rather than the pool next time -- just for the view.) We took advantage of their free safety deposit box in the office and was completely satisfied with that process. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. Parking was only $23, which apparently is a bargain in NY! We were just glad to park the car and not have to drive in NY any more than necessary -- craziness!

Excellent location

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Fantastic location
Cons: In room safes
Location: Near Times Square, subway, Port Authority Bus Terminal and Piers for various cruises and other river activites
We had an excellent stay at this hotel which was in a fantastic location for all amenities. It was a couple of blocks from the Port Authority Bus terminal (handy for the airport bus), 3 blocks from the subway and about a 5 min walk to Times Square. We could not have had a better location. I can't understand previous posts complaining about the size of the rooms. Ours had two double beds and was still very spacious. Admittedly the bathroom was tiny but what do you want to do in there? It was immaculately clean and the swimming pool was an added bonus. We didn't need the parking but can see that this would be a big attraction for other people - this seemed ample and security was on hand to monitor this. The in-room fridge, microwave and iron were all used but I felt the money could have been better spent on in-room safes rather than the antiquated system used at reception. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an excellent location with good facilities at a reasonable price.

Great location but we were not having a littlle fridge as describe. Dont take a room with view on the pool. They are old and very small.. Parking fee at the hotel are very cheap for manhattan..the washroom is very very small..and after the first day of cleaning we found hair on the floor that does nt belong to us......

I had a good stay in general, my needs were accomodated. Not too fancy but it has an excellent location which for me is perfect when you want to visit NYC.
