Great for a short stay in the big city.

Posted Dec 16, 2014
I stayed here for a weekend trip combining a business-related show and some of the usual tourist stuff. The Blu was reasonably priced (for NY during Xmas season), clean, and comfortable. The best feature was the subway stop literally a few feet from the front door. The room was small, but again, it's New York. I would have appreciated a clothes rack (don't need a closet) or at least some hooks on the wall. Some street noise. In all, I'd stay there again.

Clean, newly renovated, but no heat.

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Very clean modern rooms comfortable beds but barely any heat, the heat is controlled by hotel per floor, 45-ish degrees outside and 60-65 in room despite repeated requests for heat except 4:00 AM, 1 time woke to 80 degrees in room and othertimes cold.

This hotel is all about location. If you wish to forgo everything else, I.e. Amenities, room size, parking and friendliness of staff then this is the hotel for you.

Stay was good. Staff was friendly and the location was very convenient. Lots of restaurants in the area and the subway stop is literally a few steps from the front door.

New York Nightmare

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: The front desk staff were friendly enough, I guess. This is clearly a management issue and not their fault.
Cons: Everything. Some difficult things like noise but also extremely simple things like cleaning the bathroom and providing towels, sheets and toilet paper
I'm an experienced budget traveler (and former NYer) who can stand for conditions such as noise, cramped spaces, and less than perfect sanitation. But this hotel was so unbelievably horrible, I was shocked. It was a New York nightmare. There was absolutely no sound insulation and I had to buy earplugs after the first night. The sheets were never changes, only 1 clean towel was provided for the whole stay, and they wouldn't even replenish the toilet paper (?!?). There was a serious amount of mold in the bathroom, and the bed didn't fit the frame, so the rusty metal corner jutted out and cut my foot. The room was falling apart, dirty, and too small to walk around the bed without hitting my legs/feet on the metal. They kept bags of garbage on the floor outside of my room during the day. The windows have never been cleaned. It was a terrible hotel.

Don't bother

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Not much to recommend.
Cons: Better heating system. Closets, dressers. The standard stuff you expect in a hotel room in the United States.
Location: Decent location if you like Chinatown and Tribeca
Extremely small room---not even a closet or dresser to put our clothes. Not even a hook! No way to control temperature, and the thermostat read 89 degrees. The hotel staff was incapable of solving this problem. The staff seemed friendly but disinterested. Never again.

Pros: Location to subway. Staff excellent.
Location: China Town and Little Italy a short walk. 10 minutes by foot from TriBeCa shopping area.
Location is steps from subway. Staff is excellent. Answering many questions, even printing up maps for us. Small hotel. Good value. Rooms are small in size. Free wifi.

The easiest NYC stayover experience ever!

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: Easy - a no fuss hotel. The location was amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: detailed cleaning
We drove through Holland Tunnel and the hotel was right there, so we didn't have to drive very much in the city!! Parking was very easy on Wooster St (with discount if you stay at Tribeca Blue). The Canal Subline was right outside the hotel doors which was very convenient NR/6. The 6 Train takes you right up to 5th, The MET, Central Park. N/R takes you to 36th near Fashion area and Penn Station! Also, there was a great grocery store 2 blocks called "Jubilee" for quick snacks AND great chinese/dimsum in Chinatown 2 blocks away. Spring St and SoHo shopping 2 blocks away and Hudson st restaurants (NINJA for kids). Washington Sq park/NYU nearby as well! All good things very very close by to this hotel. We had the best time, as a young family, here. Canal street is noisy (so what's new) bring a white noise maker and earplugs or get a room not on canal street side.

Gute Lage, winziges Zimmer

Posted Nov 13, 2014
