Excellent 3 night stay in New York

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Rooms are well kitted out and feel luxury
Cons: Move bar to the 49th floor rather than ground floor to take advantage of the views
Location: Soho - great place to base yourself. Great restaurants and vibe in the evening. Nice walk along 6th to Empire State Building or west to the highline
Soho is a great place to base yourself for a New York break. Great restaurants and shopping in Soho. Trump Soho is a great hotel towering above the above buildings in Soho with some great views. Rooms are excellent - we had a corner room with fantastic views towards the financial district in Lower Manhattan.

Service took a dive.

Pros: room,
Cons: Spa had no lounge area due to privately reserved party; they tell you this AFTER you reserve your treatment. Nowhere to wait and relax!
We've stayed at Trump Tower in Chicago and once before in Soho and were very, very pleased. But for the exorbitant prices, one would expect the Concierge to provide near perfect service upon helping us purchase last minute tickets for a musical. Michael, the concierge on duty assured us that the musical wouldn't start until 8pm, despite the tickets listing start time at 7:30 pm. Let me preface this by the fact that Michael would not confirm that we had tickets at will-call until 6:45pm, 45 minutes before curtain time. At crazy expensive prices to get these tickets, I trusted that Michael was correct. NO! We were made to wait 15 minutes as the show had started at 7:30pm. Not only this, but the Trump Soho messed up again our room amenities, completely forgetting to provide the aroma pillows that we ordered…three times because their online room amenity menu is out of order. So I confirmed under cover of separate email to the staff….yet, after the first night….we received nothing. To top it off, we were told upon bringing this up at the front desk, that we should have contacted housekeeping! Hello? we already did try to get it worked out 3 times! Room service menu was not even as good as the first time we stayed. Chicken noodle soup was to die for in January with roasted rosemary. In March, it seemed straight from a can. Not worth the extra money we were charged to upgrade to a suite. Service was not good during our 5 days there. I will stay elsewhere next time.

Greeted warmly at check-in and was pleasantly surprised by the space and decor of the room. Beautiful view all the way to the east river. Definitely my new SOHO hotel when visiting New York. Definitely going back.

Expensive and disappointing experience at Trump

Posted Apr 14, 2015
We recently stayed at the Trump Soho as we were attending a Celebrity Chef International Culinary Center event and looking forward to a relaxing 4 days at this hotel. Unfortunately it was an expensive disappointment with our room and the staff. Our phone and TV did not work so after a long day of flying and wanting to enjoy dinner and movies in our room, we could not do so for any of our trip. Their IT Dept came up to address the issue and simply rebooted the equipment which resolved the issue for less than 5 minutes but back to not working again. The second IT person came up and just started at it doing nothing and then said he did not know what else to try but call him again if it happened again, a ridiculous response and suggestion for solution. We contacted the front desk but was told they were fully occupied so we could not move rooms. We went to the front desk in person the next morning to at least be offered some compensation on a $500 a room night hotel but nothing was offered to us which was very disappointing for a business that should thrive off of exceptional customer service. There is clearly some training to be done at this hotel and some significant quality issues with their rooms to be addressed.

Excellent staff and hotel. Beds could be better.

Posted Apr 11, 2015
In general, an excellent four nights stay. Excellent location, kind and professional staff ready make you feel at home and fulfil your requests. Excellent facilities and location. Beds are confortable but no for everybody. They should be firmer to accomodate persons with back problems or simply preferring a firmer support for their backs.

Nice enough

Posted Apr 7, 2015
We had an issue upon check in, front desk manager seemed confused and not able to remedy issue in a timely and overly accommodating manner. Once issue was taken care, after literally begging for them to accommodate us, our stay was nice. We are used to staying at four seasons and ritz style properties where management will do literally anything to properly "take care" of their guests. Can't expect that level of service here. Room was large, but is a bit tired, carpets and touch up painting needed. Room was next to elevator so could hear beeping and early morning voices. We didn't complain because we got a very good rate thru Expedia. If we were paying any higher rate than what we got thru Expedia, we would have changed hotels, I would rate a 4 star, no better. Expect a Westin level hotel and you will be happy. Front valet were fantastic!! Nice, very helpful and accommodating.
