Great Downtown NYC Hotel

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, outdoor patio.
Cons: Hotel restaurant is not great & pricy, not enough breakfast food choices.
Location: 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park, Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, World Trade Center, World Financial Center.
Enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the W Downtown Hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room we stayed in had a great south view, and loved that it even opened for some fresh air. We also enjoyed the outdoor patio. Easy access to the Subway (1 train, Rector St.) and Path during the week. You don;t have to mind some views of construction going on, but it was not really noisy during our stay.

Excellent location to the 9/11 memorial, battery park, and just short cab rides to a ton of other must see places. The rooms were perfect and the staff was more than helpful.

all W hotels i know are good, NYC downtown is lame

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: Not much really, nothing to mention.
Cons: The general manager needs to improve a lot of things, an international service course would be good for him/her to take.
Location: Location good, right infront of 9/11 memorial, far from most of attractions though, Subway really close, Red and Green lines.
A/C was not working, 02:00 i had someone in my room fixing it. Safe was not working properly, 2 other visits from the guys to fix it. Cleaning staff would not bother to pick up clothes from the floor. Hair dryer missing a critical part for a girl, unusable. People at the front desk not really friendly, it´s like they don´t care. i would not come back to this hotel nor recommend it. Days Inn standard.

Great hotel for mother-daughter getaway. Pleasant and efficient staff; doorman friendly and helpful. Appreciated the morning coffee and WiFi in the livingroom. Great location with convenient subway stop around the corner. Lots of hustle and bustle during the day; the neighborhood becomes wonderfully quiet and peaceful for slumber.

W downtown New York

Excellent location....staff were super friendly and helpful. The lobby/bar area was comfortable and had a great atmosphere. Rooms were small but literally didn't need anymore. Views are amazing. Hotel drinks/minbar/room service was expensive so didn't use it but otherwise a great hotel.

Don't expect much

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff
Cons: Turndown service actually needs to come to my room and clean it....
My room was adequate, ordinary, average, etc. Didn't even get turndown service or fresh towels when I came back from my business dinner. Very disappointing for a W. I expect better from this brand.
