DisappointingPosted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The DJ
Cons: Hotel Staff which is it falls down to Management.
Location: Times Square location was great because it was right on the corner of Times Square.
The hotel staff forgot the towel mat, plastic cups, complimentary water and actually tidy up the room but did not vacuum or clean the bathroom. The front desk lady was not pleasant only the gentlemen was professional. Very disappointing.

Excellent location in Times SquarePosted Jul 20, 2014
Hotel was very nice however pillows on the bed were terrible much too soft and no support. Also would prefer non glass doors for bathroom walls, not very private, otherwise hotel room nice.

Disappointing StayPosted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The only thing to like about this hotel is it's location. Right on Broadway. Other than that, the rest is smoke and mirrors. Nothing else to like!
Cons: Customer service could be improved....the conditions of the room could be vastly improved. The hotel is very dark and gloomy....the lobby etc.
Location: All of the theaters are near by and shopping. The things to do will have to be more important than your hotel experience for this to be beneficial.
I loved my visit to New York, but wishing we stayed in another hotel. I was actually surprised at the regular/rundown conditions of this hotel. Or maybe it was just my room, but doubt it. The conditions of the room were very unpleasant. We stayed in the "Wonderful Room" and that couldn't be the furthest from the truth. First the bed.....it was actually just sitting on some platform that the bed would simply just shift off of at any time and you'd have to push it back into position. The conditions of the carpet made me feel like I didnt want to walk on it with my bare feet, so we used the "prison house" slippers they had complimentary. And the last straw.....the room only had one chair in it and that was the office chair for the desk. My wife called down to the front desk to ask if someone could bring us another chair so that we could both have somewhere to sit other than the bed. At first they gave her a hard time and eventually brought up a chair that was so run down that we didn't even want it in the room. So we called back, explained to them that the chair that was delivery to our room was very unpleasant. At that point we were told that we would not get another chair because every room is only allowed one chair. So much for going the extra mile to make guests comfortable. We thought this was a very simple/doable request. We had a lamp in our room that didn't work, they had to send up the maintenance guy to fix it and he never returned with it. Terrible!

Great Hotel, Great Views, Right on Times SquarePosted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Great staff!
Cons: The shades still let a LOT of light in from Times Square and windows don't block sound (even at 40th floor). Sound & noise reduction would be a !
Location: Everything. You're in the heart of Times Square!
I am a fan of W Hotels in general, and this was another great experience. It was our honeymoon and the "W Insider" sent us a complementary bottle of champagne and some chocolate dipped strawberries. It made things feel very special. Just remember you are ON Times Square and even at 40 floors up you can hear a LOT of street level noise, and its really bright at night because of the huge illuminated signs outside the window. Not a real problem for us, but if you're sensitive to either, probably not the best place for you.

Nice hotel in the heart of Times SquarePosted Jul 15, 2014
I liked the hotel. It was centrally located which made it easy to get around I wish the rooms had more lighting. I get it's hip however getting dressed in the dark is no fun. Also need more electrical outlets. With five phones and computers to charge we had to wait to use outlet. I also requested a room with a view of Times Square before I arrived but that request was not granted. Loved. that they has a DJ on the weekend in the reception area. Overall it was a pleasant stay

Heart of the Square/Close to the ShowsPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Close to the theatres and Starbucks is right across the street! The mats in the elevators were a nice touch -- "Good Morning," "Good Afternoon" etc.
Cons: Insulation...walls way too thin.
Location: Times Square, Broadway Shows, walking distance from Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Bryant Park.
If you want to be in the middle of the crowd and close to all the theatres, this is the place to stay. We love the cool vibe of the hotel, but the walls are pretty thin. We were up on 47 so there was no street noise, but we had loud neighbors and could hear their entire conversations. Plus the ice machine was close by our room and we could hear an incredibly loud noise whenever anyone filled their ice buckets. In addition, the cleaning cart was kept covered just outside our room. (Couldn't it be put in a closet somewhere when not in use?) We did love the atmosphere of the hotel and the fact that the shows that we had chosen were so close, but the crowds in this area are a bit overwhelming. But, really, it depends on what you are looking for... if you want the action of Times Square, this hotel is right in the thick of it.

Convenient but noisy and too bright...Posted Jul 7, 2014
Room was noisy and the window shades did not cover the entire windows so with the lights outside it seemed day time inside the room at 2am! Sleeping was uncomfortable and we did not get a good night sleep the entire trip...the room had some dead bugs and dust when we arrived, but our house keeper Olga was great and cleaned our room very well after we informed her of the room's condition, and she maintained it very nice everyday. The staff was great and attentive. The hotel was in a prime location and accessible to many tourist sites. Also, the store next door offers good breakfast and lunch at affordable prices 24/7.

Close to Times SquarePosted Jul 6, 2014
Great to be so close to Times Square but disappointed with the lack of modernness to the hotel rooms. The rooms lacked anything remotely close to what's hip with today's style. I expected much more. The staff, however, were great. Very friendly and helpful. The gym lacked descent equipment. Upgrade the bldg and it will be a diamond.
