Nice Hotel

Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: The staff and the location.
Overall it is a nice hotel, central to great restaurants, bars, shopping. Our room was small, (hey it is NYC), clean, modern, the staff friendly, the overall building is old, but nicely renovated.

Our favorite Hotel!

Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: Beds are clean and comfortable and good service
Cons: The business center and the wifi
Location: Union square is a day of shopping in itself. After a day there you can walk a few blocks to Soho and spend the day shopping.
Union Square is such a fabulous part of New York City and staying at the W makes everything in that area accessible. The hotel itself it perfect, clean, accommodating and beautiful.

excellent location

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, good-size bathroom. Fast elevators. Workout area.
Cons: 2 bottles of free water for 2 people, please. And no charge for room fridge.
Location: Subway station across the street. Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods nearby.
We have stayed at this hotel many times and have always had a good experience. However, I think there have been some changes recently. They used to not charge extra for a small room fridge, but now there is a fee. And now only one small bottle of free water in the room, even though there were 2 of us. Otherwise you have to pay $9 for the bottle of 'premiium' water on your nightstand! Better to go 2 doors down to the CVS and buy a whole liter for $2. There is a nice 24/7 deli next door, for sandwiches and cheap breakfast, and lots of ready-made foods. Hotel location can't be beat, right near the Union Sq. station which is a hub for many of the subway lines. Farmers' market in the square on weekends and during the week.

Perfect location for our stay

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Cons: Price of amenities high even for New York.
Easy drive in and out. Walking distance to our events. Quick and efficient service. Would certainly return if we have another event in the area.

the low end for a W. room was very cold and thermostat kept auto-resetting to a cooler temp every 20 minutes. not as nice as some W's, but the staff was really friendly!
