Great stay near Grand Central Terminal

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Design, comfort, convenience (shuttle to Javits Center picked us up across the street in front of the Waldorf, so perfect for trade event stays).
Cons: Eventually some updates will be needed. Although beautifully maintained shades in our room had coffee stains due to close by coffeemaker.
Location: Convenient to transportation anywhere.
Have stayed at the W in the past and was surprised how clean and up-to-date it still is. Obviously, there is a strong attention to detail and care. Staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Upgraded us to a corner suite with nice views. Being an SPG Gold member, we also were offered free internet or drinks at the bar.

great stay in uppereast side

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: location, room
Cons: not much, other than making wifi available to all guests. (it depends on what class of room you booked; is free in lobby)
very nice hotel, reasonably priced (by NYC standards), convenient to everything I needed.

Great NYC hotel

Posted Jan 26, 2015
We have stayed at several NYC hotels in midtown. The W on Lexington was the best. It's a perfect location. All employees in the hotel were friendly and efficient (we were upgraded at check-in to a larger room) and helpful with directions. The room was "cozy" but the layout made it feel larger. It was clean, neat, and comfortable. We definitely will stay there again.

Good location, friendly staff.

Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Bar within the hotel.
Cons: Free wifi in rooms. Remove one hour limit on free wifi in the lobby. Cheaper breakfast.
Location: Approx 15 minute walk to Times Square. 10 minute walk to fifth avenue / Rockefeller Centre.
Stayed at the W for 5 nights in January 2015. The staff were great, very friendly and would do their upmost to help you especially at the help desk. They would book tickets & organise activities for you, though there was an additional cost. We were supposed to have had a free upgrade to a room with a view but to be honest we could see nothing but the building across from us. We had a 'cosy room', which was a perfect size. Bed was comfortable and bathroom small but adequate with a good power shower. The hotel provided Bliss Products for free in the room - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, face wash & body butter, which were all great. The only bad thing I could say about the room was that you had to pay for any good films/programs on TV. We had breakfast in the hotel a couple of the days which was nice, large portions but rather expensive. Wouldn't really say it was worth money - approx $80 for two of us. The bar within the hotel lobby was lovely, good drinks menu & some bar snacks. Two minor issues that we found - no free wifi in the room, cost $15 per day, though there was free wifi in the lobby but that was limited to one hour per day. I had also asked at reception if they could print tickets for me & directed me to their business centre to do it myself. However, the business centre charged approx $6 to use the internet for 15 minutes and then a further $2 (approx) per sheet printed. The hotel has a great location & we would go back.

Great Loacation

Pros: The service is great
Cons: rooms needs to be larger
This hotel has a very good location and the service is great, the only problem is the small rooms, you can heard everything from the other rooms next to it.

Disappointing W hotel- more of a college dorm

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Stayed for one night - Saturday into Sunday. The hotel was incredibly noisy and full of younger adults hogging the elevators, drunk and acting obnoxiously. Hotel room was not the cleanest...sheets had black marks on them and the air vents were dirty. I paid for a spectacular queen room and was given a smaller room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I am disappointed as I could have stayed at the Kitano on Park Avenue for the same price.
