Just another NYC Hotel

Hotel is decent, but does not compare to other W hotels I have stayed at. Like the one in Scottsdale, AZ or the one in Miami, FL

The w NYC

The W was very clean. I was impressed. If there is one thin they could change, it would have to be the pillow cases. They were quite rough.

Excellent hotel in perfect location

Had a fantastic 5 day stay at the hotel in September for my 40th birthday. It is in a perfect location for sight seeing, with in walking distance of all the main attractions. I would stay at the hotel again, the staff were friendly & helpful and the hotel bar & restaurant were reasonably priced.

Not worth the money

Pros: The personal care products were great.
Cons: Remove maid carts from hall, close the door to overcrowded maid closet. Make the bathroom at least 6 inches bigger.
Location: Good location for food and entertainment
We paid extra for a larger room, I understand that rooms are small in NYC. The toilet in the tiny bathroom is so close to the shower that it is virtually unusable. The hall was too small to get into your room (around the maid cart that was there day and night). They could do a better job cleaning the room.

Compared to other hotels I've stayed at, the cozy room, is very small. But, after the first night you get use to it. Good for two people. $6-$8 cab ride to Times Square, $20 ride to Battery Park, $15 to Chelsea area. $6-$10 to the Murray hill area. All costs depend on the time of day, obviously. Short walk to Essa Bagels, convenience store, Grand Terminal, gyro food stand around the corner, busy intersection though.

Very rude staffs

Pros: price only
Cons: staff's behavior
Location: location is okay.walkable distance to no.6 subway only.
Everything was worse than expected. I'm not talking about the size/condition of the room... that i didn't expect anything so it's ok. but staffs would respond very slowly to our needs that i had to make more than 2 calls, and they were very RUDE! That attitude,, i did not expect from starwood hotels

Room served its purpose, but it is typical NYC small. You need to store your luggage in the closet to avoid tripping over it. Didn't have any interaction with the staff, so I can't comment on that. Nice central location to get around to just about any place that you need to.

I arrived at the hotel at 12:00pm. Check in was pleasant, quick, and my room was ready for me. The room was a good size and clean. I had drinks and food at the hotel bar...bartenders were friendly.
