old and dirty, unfriendly staff

Cons: everything
Location: good location, homeless people right next door camping out on the steps of the cathedral, some hookers too.
horrible experience, very dirty and outdated, uncomfortable beds, staff neither nice nor helpful. Will never stay again at this place. Super 8 could not be worse.

Beautiful lobby and great staff but very disappointing room. For "superior" read "basic". Tired, flaking paintwork; very little closet space; small, cramped room.

Pros: the beautiful lobbieseasy walking to most
Location: easy walk in most directions
lacks today's bathroom convenience old bathroom style with no place to put your toiletries old tub/shower room was pretty location was A staff A check in was worse than Vegas...1/2 wait finally they got more help at the desk after the line was some 25 strong

Pros: Service, comfort, location, and history.
Try this experiment. Put on your best puzzled look and just try and make it from one end of the hotel to the other. I bet no fewer than three of the employees will ask if you need assistance. If you like to be taken care of, this is the place.

Not what is shown on the website...disappointing!

Pros: Not much other than the front desk clerk who attended to my concerns immediately and personally.
Cons: The hotel needs a major refurbishment. Restaurants need improving as well.
Location: The location is perfect! Easy rides around Manhattan.
I was extremely disappointed with the condition of the initial room I received upon arrival. I raised the matter with the Front Desk Clerk the next morning and she personally took me to new room which was more in keeping with the Waldorf name. I must confess that this hotel if overpriced for what is being offered. Could really do with major renovations and re-furnishing.

Very nice hotel

Very nice hotel centrally located, walkable distance from Time Square, Empire State Building and other places of interest. Very good staff, excellent rooms and facilities. Only lacking is a tea / coffee maker in the room. Overall experience is very nice.

Lebendiges Architektur Denkmal

Pros: Die phantastische art-deco Architektur die das Hotel zu einem Gesamtkunstwerk macht. Auch war es bei entsprechend langer Vorausbuchung günstig.
Location: Die Lage ist schön zentral. 15 Minuten zu fuß bis MOMA und Zentralpark und Times square.
Das Hotel ist von 1930. Wir haben es gezielt wegen der bekannten großen Tradition ausgewählt. Es hat immer noch einen hohen Zeitgemäßen Komfort. Aber man darf nicht die neuesten Klimaanlagen und Schallschutzfenster erwarten. Auch ist das Hotel zu groß um so etwas wie persönlichen Service zu bieten. Da wir all das wussten waren wir sehr zufrieden. Wir hatten eine Suite mit einem Schlafraum mit 2 Queensize Betten und einen sehr großzügigen wohnraum. Alles sehr stimmig im Stil des Hotels eingerichtet.
