Fantastic Hotel pity about some of the staff

Posted Oct 17, 2014
Pros: The room was large and comfortably furnished with plenty of wardrobe space. A Nespresso coffee maker and a roomy bathroom with fluffy, white towels.
Cons: The nigh reception staff. At our room 12pm room key didn't work. My husband went to reception and was greeted with "what do u want me to do about it!
Location: Close to grand central station and Chrysler building and Rockefeller centre. 20/25 min walk to Times Sq. Right on the beg of 5th Ave.
This was our first time in New York and the hotel was more than we xpected. This was a special celebration and asked for a room with a fantastic view and wow did they deliver we were on 39th floor and looked on to the East River right across to Long Island. Our package included breakfast in the VIP restaurant on 30th floor - food was fab and great choice. Staff here were slow and never uttered a word. It also included hor deurves and cocktails between 5-8pm - we used this when we arrived but when we asked about the cocktails we were told there wasn't any only wine and beer. We didn't take that any further it was unimportant to us.

Great hotel close to Grand Central station

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Location: Grand Central station is within walking distance as well as restaurants and shops.
Beautiful hotel, stayed in the west wing on the 38th floor. What an incredible view of Brooklyn especially at night.

Given their marketing, I just expected better.

Pros: The location was great. Vince at the bell desk was wonderful and very helpful.
Cons: Teach the front desk staff to operate like luxury hotel staff, which means extremely professional.
Raquelle at the front desk was simply not as professional as she could be. If a guest wants to change rooms, there should be no added commentary as to how long it took for the guest to come back to the front desk.

Nice hotel but forget about the pool

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Bed was really comfortable and I liked the interior design.
Cons: Swimming pool hours should be changed to 7/24. Or at least should be open until late midnight.
Location: Manhattan is a small island so you can walk everywhere. But there isn't any close subway station to this hotel.
I've booked this hotel because it's only one of the few hotels that has a swimming pool. But the pool is only open from 10am-12pm and 3pm-6pm. So any time you come back to the hotel and want some swim it's closed. They also have a sauna which shares the hours of the pool but wan't working when I used it. Other than that it's a nice and clean hotel.

Great hotel if you need access to midtown East

Posted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed in the West Tower, which is new. Nice, clean, quiet with fabulous views of the East River. Room was pretty large for NYC, so it would be good for a business trip. Not quite the Ritz or Mandarin, but definitely better than most hotels near Grand Central.

Service is bad

Posted Jun 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
The service attitude from the hotel staff is bad. The valet service is a joke. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to get the car. The staff also knows the problem but doesn't do anything to improve this process.
