Great hotel.

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Clean, tidy, good all round facilities.
Location: Little Italy, some wonderful restaurants. Not too far from the Brooklyn Bridge and south side (access to Statue of Liberty).
Down in China town/ Little Italy so it's a good distance from the hubbub of Manhatten but in many ways that is what is so appealing, you get to see another side of NY. Some great restaurants nearby and the public transport is convenient.

Tolles Hotel mit Klasse Service!

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Service an der Rezeption, Sauberkeit des Zimmers und Lage des Hotels!
Cons: Nichts anzumerken!

Great hotel in Chinatown - convenient location!

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Location, price and near public transport.
Cons: A clean toilet - room 202 had to be wiped down and there was a pubic hair on the seat from the previous guest.
Location: See first paragraph above.
My 16 year old daughter and I had a long weekend in NYC during the Holiday season. This hotel is perfectly situated if you don't want to be in the 'throngs'. The area felt safe and lots of bargain eating options. Try Vanessa's dumplings very close by. An easy walk to the SoHo neighbourhood and very close to the many subway lines. I had requested a room with a balcony BUT it was terribly cold as the door does not seal tightly. The hotel kindly offered me another (warmer) room but did not issue me the difference in price. I had left a pair of prescription reading glasses in the first room but they had mysteriously disappeared. The toilet in the first room (202) needed to be wiped down before I could use it. There were still urine spots and a wayward pubic hair on the toilet seat. I mentioned it to the Front Desk - no follow up from the hotel.

Lower Manhattan, a walk to 9/11 Memorial

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Staff is helpful, good location and very clean.
Cons: Not much really, asked for a rollaway bed a few times but go it straightaway.
Location: Close to B Line, not far from 9/11 Memorial and Battery Park (Statue of Liberty tour).
Took my mom to NYC for her retirement/Xmas gift as she had never been before. Looking for something reasonable with the Tree Lighting and Xmas in NYC going on. Wyndham in Chinatown fit the bill. Location was fine for us and what we wanted to do. Close to the B line (around the block on Grand) made it easy to go uptown to Times Square. Russ & Daughters is not far either. Used a rollaway bed, though I did have to ask a couple times for it. The staff was otherwise accommodating and helpful. Replaced a non-functioning coffee maker right away and stored our bags before and after our stay so we could go enjoy the city. Would stay there again.

Great place, I'll definitely be back

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Was a great hotel and great location! The staff was very friendly. When I arrived at 10am, they gave me a room right away. The view from the room was amazing, I could see the world trade center...was beautiful! The room was very clean as well. I also asked for a late check out until 1pm and was granted the request. My flight left at 9pm and they allowed me to keep my bags behind the desk until I was ready to leave. New York city was amazing. Dunkin donuts around the corner and a Duane trade around the other corner. Little Italy was super close by as well!

Good location for Lower Manhattan

Posted Dec 6, 2014
Pros: Location to the World Trade Centre and the Brooklyn Bridge. Good Subway location for easy access to upper Manhattan - Times Square, Central park etc.
Cons: Take the ice machines from the floors
Location: Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park, World Trade Centre, Empire State, Macy's
We arrived at the Wyndham Garden and were pleased with the first impressions. the hotel is clean and tidy and the staff were welcoming. We were initially given a room on the 5th floor but the first night was terrible. the noise from the street below was too loud to sleep. We contacted the staff and they willingly arranged for us to be moved to the 9th floor (for $20.00). This was much better and the street noise was not as bad. However, at the end of each floor is an ice machine that comes to life all by itself at 01.00 am and 04.00 am, the noise is incredible. The street workers of Lower Manhattan start work at 04.00 am and all you can hear is the street wagons and the refuse trucks. If you are a light sleeper it is no good. My husband and I were totally exhausted by the end of the 4 nights, New York is tiring as there is so much to do but add on that no sleep and it wears you out.

Becoming a regular

Posted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: good value for the money
Cons: the showers in the accessible rooms (the ones with balconies) don't work so well and the lighting in those rooms could be improved too.
Location: Public transportation close by, shopping on Broadway and West Broadway
It has become my favorite hotel for business travel: Central location, quiet and nice rooms, smiling staff which is rare in NYC, work station in room, free WiFi everywhere, many restaurants/breakfast places as well as good shopping close by. Terrific views from many rooms and of course the rooftop bar. I haven't used the fitness center so far but all the walking in NYC is usually enough work-out anyway.

Lovely rooms

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: The reception staff were very helpful
Cons: Don't charge for high rooms
Location: Loads of shops, little italy was excellent for food
Really nice hotel and a good location, it's not near the hustle and bustle of times and the subway stations are close. The only issue I have is that we requested a high floor and on arrival we were told it was an extra 40 dollars (10 dollars per night) which I thought was a bit of a rip off.

Looks nice but in Chinatown which isn't New York.

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Nice enough hotel with good rooftop bar. View from our room quite good but not spectacular. The room flooded due to heavy rain during our stay for which we got NO consideration. Rooms are small with few facilities like wardrobe storage, hooks or drawer space. If it's your first visit to NY this is not the place for you. Stick to Uptown.
