Good hotel a little out of the wayPosted Dec 30, 2014
Wydham definetely has the potential to be rated a four star hotel even though it is several blocks off fifth avenue. Improvement is needed in entrance/lobby area and some of the furnishings in the rooms.overall hotel was clean and comfortable and had all the comforts needed especially for our overnight stay

Dirty roomPosted Dec 30, 2014
Good location. Filthy room. Sofa and carpeting made you want to leave the second you walked into the room. Felt cheap

Comedy of errors but ok stayPosted Dec 28, 2014
The hotel management were very helpful but there was one person at the front desk who was not so, I observed people in tears negotiating with him. My stay was pleasant after a bumpy start when I opened the door to my room to find someone already occupying it ! After the initial shock, the hotel offered me a room that looked straight in to the elevator - I said no to that room. The third room I was offered was a 2 bed suite! The suite was very generous but the refrigerator was not working . I noticed a bar fridge in the kitchen so I stocked it with items purchased from wholefoods - the next day most of my items were frozen over ! I complained to the management and they refunded me for a the cost of the items, lucky I had kept the receipt. I wanted to buy a bottle of wine and the concierge recommended a place two blocks away which was a spooky looking store. On my return I discovered a high quality diner a few doors up from the hotel - why did the concierge not mention it ? Another issue was that housekeeping would not appear at all after calling. All in all a pleasant stay but the comedy of errors with the room allocation and fridge are not acceptable to the modern traveller.

Tired, Dated, Worn out.Posted Dec 25, 2014
Cons: New staff, new furnitures.
Location: Amish Market across the street is excellent for coffee and pastries; great because the hotel has none. Close to Grand Central, UN, and shopping.
Excellent location. Everything else is way below standards. Staff is clueless; had to ask daily for soap. Restaurant is closed, but was not notified of this upon booking. No lounge. No anything. Furniture is very, very worn. Other than the location, this is no where near a four-star property!

OK for New York, Small Room, No hotel lobbyPosted Dec 21, 2014
Pros: Clean and neat.
Location: Lobby with coffee
Just a quick night in New York. The hotel was clean and adequate. However there is no hotel lobby to lounge in (as in, read the news while my wife is still asleep), and no coffee area. Nice for just a place to sleep.
