Needs a major face-lift

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: See above.
Location: The location is outstanding. Penn Station is just around the corner and access to the entire Manhattan can not be easier.
This hotel is supposed to be renovated, and maybe we ended up in a part of the hotel that wasn't done yet, but it was really not a nice experience. Dirty old carpets both in the hallway and in the room. The walls and the bathroom had that dirty feel that comes from heavy usage. Not that it wasn't cleaned properly but because it haven't been upgraded for a long time. When we arrived they said our room was ready for us, but the former guests soaps, card-keys and change was still present in the room so it hadn't been properly cleaned-out. Apart from that first-day experience the room was cleaned well every day. The problem was not the cleaning-staff, it was the hotel itself. We seroiusly considered changeing hotel, but it proved to be too much a hassle. It the state the hotel is now I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone. Such a shame because the location is fantastic.

Lovely art deco hotel in great location.

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Liked everything about the hotel.
Cons: Would like to see the hotel provide laundry facilities for use by all guests.
Location: Centrally located and a short walk to Macys, Madison Square Gardens and the Empire State Building and 1 subway stop from Times Square.
The New Yorker is a great hotel renovated in the art deco style. Located just a short walk from Madison Square Gardens and Macys, the hotel offers excellent access to the subway, numerous restaurants, Starbucks etc, as well as direct access via the hotel foyer to the Tick Tock Diner. Staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were kept clean and tidy. Our room was a little on the small side but that is what one has to expect in New York - with so many great places to visit you don't spend a great deal of time in the hotel room. The hotel has a business and fitness centre, as well as an ATM machine in the foyer and drink and ice machines on every floor.

Vue sur l EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

Posted Apr 23, 2015
Location: MADISON SQUARE GARDEN . Proximité gare METRO PENN STATION . MAGASIN MACY'S
