Ideal location and great hotelPosted Feb 24, 2015
Couldn't be a better location in NYC. 10 min walk from the theatres with no shortage of coffee shops, restaurants and bars. We stayed in a queen metro room which, although not the biggest, is ample for all the time you'll actually spend in the room. Friendly desk staff, transportation desk who were happy to help and polite door staff.

Roost in NYCPosted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Cozy room with view of the Empire State building. Walking distance to Times Square, Macy's, the show we had tickets for.
We enjoyed our brief stay in Midtown and, in spite of the very cold weather, found the New Yorker to be a great place to rest our heads at the end of a busy day. The location was perfect for us Amtrak travelers, and the Tick Tock diner was a great option instead of the usual overpriced, low quality food found at so many hotel restaurants. Front desk, security and concierge staff were all helpful and responsive. We will definitely stay here again.

Just don't expect too much.Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: The fitness centre was adequate and the 24 our restaurant was convenient. I liked the access to the subway.
Cons: Get rid of the charges for internet use and maintain equipment function (i.e. printer cartridges, etc.). Okay to charge for printing.
Location: Located in Manhattan. I wasn't sightseeing in NY, so I'm not sure about proximity to local landmarks/shopping/etc.
We spent 2 nights at the Wyndham New Yorker. The hotel itself is attractive in that older, more classical style, and I'm sure that many of the rooms are very nice; however, ours was a small room in a back corner of the 31st floor, and there was very little to recommend it apart from a very comfortable bed (which, for some people, might be the most important feature!). There was no coffee pot for a quick morning beverage, no mini-bar, no extra space to relax in when you weren't sleeping, and an iffy heating system that was too hot on the first evening and stone cold on the second despite all efforts to moderate the temperature. The bathroom was very basic and quite old-fashioned as well, which was charming, but not necessarily practical. That said, the room, like the rest of the hotel, was clean and well-maintained. There was also a sizable fitness facility on the lower level (with working equipment!), a fairly inexpensive 24-hour food service area just off the main lobby, and a 24-hour business centre for those requiring access to a computer/printer. Unfortunately, guests are charged a fee for internet use (unlike the next hotel that I stayed at). On a positive note, the hotel staff were neatly dressed and helpful and the subway station was within easy access. I confess that although we were a little disappointed with our room. which we expected more from in a 4-star facility, the hotel overall was lovely, safe, clean, and comfortable.

立地条件が良い便利なホテルPosted Feb 24, 2015

Marvelous locationPosted Feb 23, 2015
I have stayed at the New Yorker 6 or 7 times & have always been pleased with the staff & the accommodations. Use your VIP upgrade here if you are eligible. The Tick Tock Lounge is currently having some work done, which makes eating there less than ideal.

Excellent locationPosted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Excellent 24hr Diner and its great location
Cons: Still needs a bit of modernising.
Location: Right in the centre of manhattan, close to the Lincoln Tunnel exit so getting from Newark was a breeze. Right on an underground station too.
This was our third stay at the New Yorker. They still have the excellent TickTock Diner which is fab when you've got severe jet lag and have woken up at 3am starving. Great food served all day long. Its just been refurbished and although the decor is now absolutely hideous, the food is thankfully still plentiful and delicious. The hotel has dramatically improved since our last stay 4 years ago. Much modernisation has happened but it is still a very old hotel, so don't expect gleaming fixtures and fittings. We had a 1 bed suite which was perfect for me, my mum and my 8 year old daughter. They seemed to have fixed the terrible air conditioning units that caused problems on both our previous stays. The location is fantastic for Macy's, the Empire state and Maddison Square Gardens We ate at the Italian restaurant one night and had delicious steak and seafood and fantastic cocktails. Im sure by New York standards we could have found somewhere more impressive but it was -15.c, snowy and we were tired. The food was a treat and our waiter fantastic.
