"Great Location"
We were able to check in early which was very helpful after a 6 hour flight. They upgraded our room for free from a double to a king! Only complaint would be That the bathroom was pretty small and it wasn't very clean. Overall great staff, helpful and nice! Would recommend to a friend and would most definitely stay here again.

"Midtown location near lots of great bars and food"
I live only 50 miles north of Manhattan, but when I have a week of business in the city, I stay at the Belvedere. The rooms are not gigantic, but certainly more than enough for sleeping and getting ready to go out. They have a breakfast buffet (I wish you could order eggs other than scrambled) and they have an associated restuarant accessable right from the lobby with a discount for hotel guests. The staff is really good, helpful with all my questions and changes to my reservation. There's always a doorman, and he gets the taxi for you (I don't like standing in the street waving for one). Many Europeans so if you speak another language, you'll get plenty of practice. It is not the cheapest hotel in NY, but not the most expensive either, and I feel comfortable and safe every time I stay here.

"Excellent hotel. Nicely updated. Great Location."
Very welcoming staff. Had everything I needed. I was there for business and needed a quiet, well-equipped room for work. This had everything. The room was very clean and modern. Free internet. The hotel market is well-equipped. And you can't beat the location. I was able to go for a run in Central Park and find any kind of restaurant I wanted within 1-2 blocks of the hotel. The staff was fabulous and very helpful. Great experience.

"I love New York in June...but in March...brr!!!"
The hotel was fantastic and in the best location ever right on 58th and Columbus Circle - close to Central Park, convenient to the subway, plenty of cabs in the vicinity and within walking distance of Bergdorf's! I was in a small suite which was perfect - very modern and comfortable. Two flat screen TV's and able to have company because the sitting area was large enough - love what they did in the bathrooms stark white. I wish the rooms did offer a coffee maker as I did have to run down the street to Starbucks and it was 32 degrees.

"We Will Be Back!"
The location was perfect (walking distance to Grande Central Station, Time Square, shopping and a Starbucks 3 doors down). The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, there was a fun wine happy hour and the bar in the lobby was swanky and fun (we went for a night cap every night). The room was funky and fun and modern and we loved every minute of it!

Where to stay in New York

    New York City Hotel Guide

Whether it’s the lure of Times Square’s city lights, the captivating talent on Broadway, or the inviting gaze of Lady Liberty, New York City, New York, has an undeniable charm that attracts visitors from around the world. Book a New York City vacation to plant yourself in the fervor of the fast-paced city and experience The Empire State’s magnetic pull.

    Hotels

The city is divided into five unique boroughs, where you’ll find countless New York hotels. Manhattan, one of the more popular boroughs, features accommodations located near must-see destinations, including Central Park, Greenwich Village, and Times Square. Another alluring borough is Brooklyn, which is home to the Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, and Prospect Park. Regardless of which borough you decide to stay in, there are countless hotels in New York City located near the must-see attractions.

    Transportation

While visitors can reserve car rentals in New York City, do realize that driving through the city is not for the faint of heart. Because of the seemingly perpetual traffic, people often choose alternative modes of transportation.

Walking is a common form of getting around the city, but pedestrians should remain alert. At all hours of the day, the streets are jam packed and the sidewalks are crowded, so be mindful of the flow of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

New York City Subway is an intricate system and one of the most popular ways to get around in the Big Apple. It runs 24/7 offering service to areas all over the city. To ride the subway, travelers must purchase a MetroCard from stations, local grocery stores, or newsstands.

The famous yellow taxis in New York City offer another way of getting around, especially Manhattan, but taxi fees are pricier than the subway fares. To hail down a taxi, stay clear of traffic on the side of the road and raise one hand in the air.

    Travel Basics

The first rule to being a tourist in New York City is not to act like a tourist. Refrain from blocking the already congested city sidewalks. Plan out your route ahead of time, and use your smart phone for directions instead of pulling out a map.

Although you may feel inspired by Fashion Week and the trendy celebrities who strut their stuff in six-inch heels in New York City, stilettos and fashionable footwear have no place in the sightseer’s attire. From circumnavigating Central Park to touring Ellis Island, your feet will want the coziest pair of shoes you can find. Save your stylish shoes for when you can hop in a cab instead.

    Weather

New York City can experience summer temperatures in the high 90s and even low 100 degrees Fahrenheit with extreme humidity, though the temps tend to generally hover between the 70s and 80 degree F mark. Winter can see temperatures around 20 F with the possibility of snow. Though you may have to brave the chilly temperatures, from January to April you can usually land some of the cheapest deals on hotels in NYC.

For less extreme temperatures and weather, visit during spring or fall. During this time, the weather is more mild and perfect for catching the flowers blossoming in spring or the foliage changing colors in the autumn. The mornings and evenings can still be cool during these seasons, so it’s best to pack some layers to prepare for unpredictable weather.

Regardless of whether the temperatures are soaring or plummeting in New York City, the massive skyscrapers, indulgent shopping destinations, and famous attractions are sure to distract you from whatever weather rolls through the city on your vacation. Use Expedia.com to book your New York City flights today to get ready for an adventure in the Concrete Jungle.
