“Nice Place to Await a Flight”

The hotel is strong on service but it is not in the best shape. You come to this hotel because it is near Newark, not for the luxury. There was a very helpful guest information booklet; a staffer helped people with the breakfast buffet; local takeout places delivered to the guestroom; and a maintenance person showed up quickly. There were several newspapers available. The WiFi went kablooey in the morning after working well the previous night. My heat controls were not working correctly but that was quickly fixed. The hotel is not located in the best location but it is close to the airport. The staff was quick to answer my few questions and fix problems.

“Nice for the price”

Service was wonderful even with two buses of teenagers. Everyone was nice and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. This was a last minute booking due to an automobile accident and they were wonderful

“Good value!”

Stayed in Newark because it was cheaper than staying in New York City for vacation. A bit far from the train station (walking distance), but overall a good hotel. Clean room and hot breakfast and coffee in the morning.

Getting around

If you stay here, just be aware that the hotel is over a mile from the train station. Didn't really see many busses on the street, so either walk or $10 cab ride to the train station, which is the best way to get into New York unless you have a rental car.

“Excelent value!”

I stayed 2 nights and have no complaints. This is a 100% smoke free hotel, which is awesome. The room and bathroom were very clean, the bed was comfortable, pillows and sheets also clean, and the entire room smelled nice, fresh. A/C heat perfect. I recommend this hotel for the value it gives. I would stay again w/o thinking it twice.

“Not Bad - Meets the Expectation”

The hotel looks old-fashioned but is still in good condition. The service is fine for budget hotel. Only inconvenience is the location - you have to add $20 RT taxi costs to Newark Penn Station and back for traveling to Manhattan.

“This was a nice place”

The Comfort Inn is really wellmaintained, very clean, really good service, my room was very big, the bed was really good matress,and enormous, on top of that there was one more king-size bed slightly smaller. There was a small kitchen table with microwave and fridge. There was coffee and tea. The bathroom was big and nice. The complimentary breakfast was the most lavish I,ve ever seen. It outdid most of the buffets that you pay for in the luxuryhotels. There was absolutely everything. There was free coffee and tea in the lobby 24 hours a day. The rating of 2 out 5 is completely unjustified.

Area recommendations

I stayed there to see New York, but the motel is close to several arts-and sportsplaces, the centre of Performing Arts, the Newark Bears basketball stadium.

Getting there

The hotel is on a highway, but there is a busstop 5 minutes away.you can walk to the staion which is about a mile and a half away.

“Just Okay”

We were trying to save money by staying in New Jersey and the hotel price was great. Unfortunately it will cost you a lot of money to get back and forth to the train station to get to New York. The New York hotels are more expensive but may be just as cheap if you don't have to pay for transportation. It was a nice hotel though for the price. Our room had very dirty floors so I had to wear shoes after taking a shower. It is kind of in a bad area..didn't really feel safe at night but all in all you get what you pay for. The staff was very nice and allowed us to keep our luggage there even after we checked out so we could go visit the Statue of Liberty before we took off.
