Underwhelming for the price paidPosted May 9, 2015
Pros: Glass partitioning wall that segregates bedroom from rest of kitchen, dining and lounge area.
Cons: Higher frequency of room service, higher quality fittings and room design, view from rooms.
Location: Close proximity to Newcastle foreshore and restaurants.
Rooms are only serviced every 3 days which is disappointing considering the price paid. Rooms are basic - average furniture and fittings. View from window looks out onto railway and carpark - not very inspiring. One positive feature - convenient as each room has its own washing machine and drier as well as cooking facilities.

Great accommodation in NewcastlePosted Apr 26, 2015 on Hotels
Easy check in, clean room with good linen and towels, very comfortable apartment and big bed. Bathroom generous and clean. A good breakfast option in the morning and polite helpful staff. Really I cannot fault the Chifley. We had a harbour view. Any number of restaurants and cafes are close by city side or on the river bank. So peaceful and the walk to the fort along the river is really excellent and being improved as I write. Newcastle is very different from its heavy engineering beginnings.

Stayed for the week and the staff and installations were simply amazing. This place is close to the best restaurants in town!

business stay in NewcastlePosted Apr 20, 2015
Good hotel centrally located to CBD while close to water side eateries. Units well appointed and very comfortable. Only let down was the GYM which is third party facility and as such not designed for hotel guests unless they are prepared to pay for a personal training session which just doesn't work if you want to get in a session before you head out for the day.

Great location! Very spacious!Posted Apr 15, 2015 on Wotif
The Apartments are close to Restaurants & Hotels on the foreshore! Beautiful early morning walk. Not much of a view from my room, looked onto other buildings, the pool & the gym. Very spacious, great shower! Great kitchen with full size fridge. IGA supermarket close by. Parking in the building $20 per day but there is a busy car park across the road. Bit of noise when other rooms used their showers, once at 1am & then 5am. Would definitely return!

Close to Honeysuckle. Not as clean as could be.Posted Apr 13, 2015 on Wotif
Close to Honeysuckle. Could be cleaner. Hotel lobby bathroom facilities needed attention. Room cleanliness below standard, with used cake of soap from previous guest still on the vanity unit. Beds were uncomfortable. Would try some where else next time.

Chifley ApartmentsPosted Mar 11, 2015 on Hotels
Reception was pleasant as usual, efficient and polite. The apartment was clean but I did however note that the furnishings were looking a little worse for wear and well past their use by date. The position of the hotel is excellent being close to the foreshore with great dining and drinking venues.
