Great views from this place

Pros: Position.
This hotel is perched on a ridge with great views from the restaurant and pool area. Property is a bit tired and "old motel" style, but was clean and comfortable. The Duty Manager was very efficient and helpful. When we arrived at the restaurant the waitress advised that she was the only one working and apologised in advance for any delays. However there weren't any and it was fine. A glass of red wine that tasted decidedly "off" was quickly replaced.

Pros: Clean room and easy to access from motorway - shopping centre quite close (not really walking distance though)
Cons: We had problems with the very soft bed - but that is very subjective. Bathroom and aircon (noisy) were pretty old - really!
Location: Reasonable access
This an above average motel, but the hotel certainly does not deserve 4 stars (as we know this is self-rated). It's rather 3 stars max.

Great value, great staff

Once again the mercure at Adamstown delivered. The staff are helpful, efficient and cheerful. They seem to enjoy working with each other. The rooms are attractive, and comfortable the movies are free and there's a lovely little vegetable garden (with tomatoes ripening on the vine) by the car park. The view over Newcastle is beautiful and the price is right. A car has you in the heart of Newcastle in 10 minutes.

Basic roadside motel

Bottomed out car on driveway despite extreme care & patience - was not impressed. Impossible to get in carpark with anything less than a 4WD Apart from that basic motel good stopover for someone on a longer drive
