Great stopover on roadtrip

Best sleep of my life - yes I was exhausted after 9 hours driving, but the bed was amazing! Host was wonderful, I couldn't get the heater to work - came up and fixed it (even offered an upgrade despite the fact it was my fault I couldn't operate a simple piece of technology!) Breakfast was delicious the next day, fantastic selection!! Definitely stay here!!

Pleasant stay beautiful scenery of Newcastle.

Pros: The scenary of Newcastle and the central location and beds are very comfortable.
Cons: Room and bathroom renovation.
Location: We drove into the city only 15 min away and joined a tour of Fort Scratchley then had lunch in the city in Darby St and coffee at a Coco Monde yum.
A pleasant stay, very affordable with a buffet breakfast. Room, especially bathroom badly needs a makeover, somewhat tired and old fashioned. Receptionist are very curteous and very willing to help.

My husband and I found this motel to be in a good location to where we had to go for a wedding. It was easy to find, close to Charlestown Square and easy to get in to Newcastle CBD. Will stay here again if we get the opportunity.

Excellent. We stayed in a spacious room which we upgraded to for $20.00 p/n. There was a spa bath in the living room with its own separate area. Great view of the valley and beach in distance. Only 8k drive down the hill to Merewether / harbour front.

A little to be desired

Generally, everything was pretty good. I was a bit disappointed to see that if I had booked on the day I arrived, I would have saved myself over $20. I guess by booking early it meant I certainly had a roof to cover my head rather than having to search on the night in question. The dining room was so heavily booked that I could only get a table at 6;00 or 6:30pm which did not suit me. Hotel staff could not very well direct me to alternative eateries. They tried, but it would have been nice to have a proper map. As it turned out, I paid top dollar for a top class room, and more than $30 for a rough and ready Thai meal at a take-away a kilometre or two down the road. I am glad I was not taking a friend away for a good weekend.

Booking on the day is not cheaper, the best deals is to purchase your stay at least 3 days in advance on our very special deal. It does however happen that we do receive cancellation on the day and some room at lower cost (different style, position, content and view) become available given a false impression to some. Our restaurant Bistro Blu tend to be busy on certain day and weekend so it is always better to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment - you will be happy to know that we now have map available at our lobby brochure rack. Great location

Our room had everything we wanted including a balcony. The bathroom was modern & clean. No undercover car parking was a bit of a downer but free Wi-Fi was a bonus that worked well. The hotel has a bar & restaurant however I did not use them. The hotel is situated high up on a ridge overlooking parts of Newcastle. The hotel also has a small pool & the staff were friendly & helpfull.
