Nice hotel with a room overlooking the river.Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Good size room. Clean. Nice view overlooking the river. Fairly convenient for the town centre and all the shops.
Cons: Tea/Coffee was enough for two but could have done with more milk. Just one packet of biscuits between two, which seemed rather stingy!
Location: Town centre 10 minutes walk away - but uphill. Lots of shops and places to eat. Wetherspoons about two minutes walk away on the riverfront.
Lovely hotel overlooking the river. Good size room. Clean with all mod cons. The downside was that you could hear the trains crossing the bridge over the river and the air extractor fan in the bathroom was rather noisy. Still my wife and I would stay there again. As an aside, if you wish to travel from the town centre to the Metrocentre use the train (£2.70 return) or bus. The metro (£2.60 day pass) only goes to Gateshead and you then have to get a bus (at an extra £3.50, return).

Friends reunitedPosted Aug 25, 2014
Stayed for a catch-up weekend with friends and it could not have been better. Hotel had assigned us with interconnecting room over looking the river, which could not have been more perfect. Staff were helpful and friendly, hotel was in a great location, although could do with an upgrade, however I would defiantly go back again. Great value for money

great view of River TynePosted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: great location, views and clean spacious room
Cons: The breakfast restaurant and the food provided.
Location: Excellent, easy to get into the city centre (for shopping or art museums/ galleries), or indeed to nearby lovely restaurants like Six, Cafe 21
Very friendly and helpful receptionist, especially Abby. Also our chambermaid, Margaret is ever so cheerful. Very clean spacious room with excellent view of he various bridges over the Tyne. Sadly, the breakfast restaurant needs a bit of a makeover. It was looking tired, and also the variety is slight limited. Otherwise, a lovely hotel and most reasonable price. location is also good for going into the city centre or for travels outside the city.

Corporate hotel geared to business usersPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Reception staff are really pleasant & helpful.
As one would expect of a quality chain - I would hate to pay rack rate though...

Tired and DatedPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Location, nice rooms overlooking the river. Staff quite friendly.
Cons: Rooms and especially bathrooms need updating
Location: Good location close to city centre
This hotel is not good value for money, the reception area is very nice but the rooms are in need of updating, our shower did not work properly and after complaining it was put right. The Reception staff are friendly and the duty Manager was very helpful.

A tired 4 star hotelPosted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: The view of the river from the bedroom window.
Cons: The décor could benefit from being renewed and the furniture could do with being replaced.
Location: Ideally sited for exploring Newcastle city centre.
4 o'clock check-in time over the weekend seemed quite late considering the hotel didn't seem very busy when we arrived on Sunday. The beds were comfortable. There appeared to be very little or no extraction to remove the steam in the bathroom. This was not ideal as my daughter has asthma and it was particularly bad during our stay. There was a notice in the bathroom warning that if the door was left open the smoke detectors could go off. The iron in the trouser press didn't work and the wardrobe doors didn't line up and wouldn't close properly. The curtains wouldn't close completely so we were woken early due to daylight streaming into the room. The rate that we paid was very reasonable but I wouldn't have been happy if it had cost full price. It served it purpose as a place to sleep for a couple of nights.

Excellent location.Posted Aug 13, 2014
Cons: Not a lot.
Location: Great location on the waterfront. Close enough (5 minute walk) for the busy hustle & bustle, but far enough from the same noisy areas at night.
Enjoyable hotel, pleasant staff, although a mishap of a parcel that went missing without trace for 10hrs, didn't do down too well. Overall, i would return, but not without a good offer/deal!

Lovely hotel near riverPosted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The luxury of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff
Cons: The pool was closed while we were there, but under the understanding it was being refurbished. other than that nothing.
Location: The location was lovely, overlooking the river and not far from bars, restaurants and shops.
Was a lovely weekend stay for a special occasion and enjoyed the location of the hotel and the quality. Would definitely stay again. Within walking distance of shops and bars which was all we needed.
