StayoverPosted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Location, quality and food
Cons: Grumpy receptionist
Location: It is right next to the airport, Metro, Garages, car hire.....
Had a very early flight the next day and so checked in here again. It is a really good hotel and a decent Italian Restaurant attached to it also; make a booking. Good rooms and they start breakfast at 04:30 too so even if you have an early flight you can eat well first.

Very good - but.Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Rooms nicely laid out. Interesting views.
Cons: Noise from aircon. Apparently has been bad for years and needs major work.
As most folk have said, everything is pretty much spot on. But there is one very big But. The noise from the aircon at night is horrendous, even when switched off.

A Great Place To Start A HolidayPosted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Comfy bed and spacious room.
Location: A great place to stay before fling off from the airport.
We spent a relaxing evening prior to a long flight the next day. Our room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. We also enjoyed delicious food at both dinner and breakfast.

Very comfortable airport hotel.Posted Jun 8, 2015
Great buffet breakfast, staff all professional and friendly. Very comfortable and well-appointed room. Would have liked more natural light in the room and a window that opened.

Cool architecture, handy for Darras Hall parties..Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Overall very good stay, great building, (still fairly new), lovely local reception staff, comfy room and bed. Liked the long 3-window room.
Cons: Didn't like that people (looked more like clubbers that guests) were hanging around the corridor outside our room, talking & slamming doors at 0400am!
Location: Handy for the airport runway. Has a restaurant and bar downstairs.
We just needed a room while we were at a local family party in Darras Hall, but the airport had more hotel choice than Ponteland. Great stay overall, only marred by the noisy blokes and 'ladies' hanging around in the corridor in the early hours of the morning.

Internet not workingPosted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Good cleanliness standard in the room
Cons: Internet not working, phone in room not working.
The internet in the room did not work, when I tried to phone down to reception on the room phone I found this also did not work. I then used my phone to call the hotel, when I did I was promised a call back which did not happen.

Great hotel, comfortable stay, great staff.Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: see above
Location: Airport across the road, Roman ruins relatively nearby (very interesting indeed), Angel o't North, Metro beside hotel to Newcastle, G'head, S'land etc
Walking distance from airport, even with heavy luggage... it's across the road. Not noisy with aircraft movements. Staff absolutely lovely, very well-appointed rooms, absolutely comfortable & pleasant 3-night stay. In-house restaurants not cheap but wonderful food... as is the breakfast. Not a budget hotel, slightly more expensive but worth every penny... you get what you pay for here and more, even a warm cookie on arrival!! :) Well done Doubletree NCL airport... great job. I like this hotel... you probably noticed! :)
