Ideal for city breakPosted Feb 26, 2015
Perfect for a short stay; good quality hotel with high standard rooms. Perhaps more than a short walk to the main city centre, station, etc; but taxis are cheap!

Shower not very powerful, but bed comfortable. 2nd time stayed here both times had problems with room cleanliness. 1st time bins in room not emptied. 2nd time cups not cleaned and chipped although staff very obliging to put right.

Nice hotel close to city centrePosted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: I liked the location, handy for city centre, I thought the room was compact and on the small side But adequate. walk in shower great.
Cons: Even though there were plenty lights in the room, it was still fairly dark. Bathroom floor extremely cold to the feet,
Location: Our visit was to see relatives.
my husband and I spent a night, good parking, the location is very good, it's only 2 minutes walk To jesmond metro station which is great for travelling to the city centre. Hotel has a couple of bar areas, an Italian restaurant too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Love hotel and everything that it offers. Stayed 1 night somewhere else as hotel didn't have availability and couldn't wait to get back there again.

Convenient for universities, good but not specialPosted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: Location is good for parents delivering kids to either universities. Big bathroom.
Cons: No room view - just noisy aircon units outside and close wall made room dark. Huge bathroom had overbath shower and curtain rather than proper cubicle
Location: Jesmond is a smart leafy suburb with trendy shops and bars and a nice park (Jesmond Dene) - these plus city centre are all within 20 minutes walk.
Nice looking hotel on busy commuter road. Free parking was a boon and available before and after our stay. Rather empty and soul-less reception/bar area. Okay Italian themed restaurant was convenient but not great value. Same venue for the hotel breakfast which was very filling but uninspired. Room was cramped and dark due to close wall and no view except for noisy aircon units. The decor was dark and messy, but everything was clean except decorative bed runner was ripped and slightly stained. Bed was comfortable, hanging space was adequate, good range of complementary drinks and snacks plus staff were quick to respond to request for decaff coffee and real milk. TV freeview record function and film choice was good. WiFi was good and reception gave help to enter password on Android phone. Huge bathroom was spotless, but extra space was odd as there was only an over-bath shower and curtain when there was room for a proper shower cubicle. Staff in reception / house-keeping, and restaurant were eastern european and efficient - the only Geordie one was even friendly!

Comfortable friendly hotelPosted Dec 7, 2014
Stayed one night in the hotel as we were going to a show at the radio metro arena. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed a pleasant meal in the hotel's Italian restaurant. The facilities in the room are excellent. Tea/coffee is available along with bottled water, orange juice and other bits and pieces.

Can't beat Geordie HospitalityPosted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness of room.
Cons: At check in it would have been helpful if the reception staff had asked if we wanted to register a credit card for use during our stay.
Visited Newcastle on 04/12/2014 for a concert in the City Hall and was looking for a hotel in walking distance of the venue. The Holiday Inn, Jesmond, ticked all the boxes. Spotlessly clean and welcoming with free parking thrown in. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were first class. After check out the following day we were able to leave the car in the car park and walk into town for a little Christmas retail therapy. All in all a pleasurable stay.

Location: kurze Wege ins Zentrum
