very central to other NE towns and of course the bPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: close to all NE towns
Cons: We were charged for WI FI in the bedroom and had to haggle to get it credited back, very confusing. They said we had one free hour
Location: the location is great on a good bus route and parking no problem
we were visiting from South Africa and found the hotel to be in a great location for our needs

All the right ingredients for a good stayPosted Sep 23, 2013
Room in the new wing was super. Bathroom lovely. Room service was very good. No tea making facilities in room. Breakfast excellent. So what went wrong? The hotel hosts functions and so we had shouting and singing under the window at 1am followed by door slamming when the revellers turned in. We were over the car park and it was Saturday night, I suppose! Hotel staff were very sweet about it, but We were very tired next day.

Friendly staff!Posted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay! The pool was kept at the perfect temperature so that you could get in without being too cold but just cool enough to be refreshing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Even the other guests were nice. There were a few maintenance issues while we were there, but they took care of everything very quickly and were super helpful! They moved us to another room that was even nicer than the one we had and it was perfect. Catch the metro line from Newcastle to Sunderland and save yourself a lot of money. It is about a mile to the hotel, but you could take a bus or cab from there if you want. We chose to walk as it was great weather anyway. I would stay there again. Prices in town were better than most of what we paid in Europe. The beach is right there and it's a quiet town. This would be good for families, but young people looking for rowdy nightlife should stay in London. Loved it.

Enjoyed itPosted Jul 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
The best thing about this hotel is the service. The employees are so nice! There were some minor maintenance issues in our room, but the moved us to an even nicer room. The pool was really nice and kept at a good temperature nice and warm, yet refreshing. The only pool or hot tub spa we had in Europe. The hotel was kept clean and the decor was nice. We had perfect seaside weather. The only downside was that Sunderland was economically depressed, so some of the seafront shops were closed for business. The upside of that was that prices were lower than anywhere else we went. . See the church that is supposed to be the oldest church in England. About an hour drive to Scotland. I would go again.

lovely hotelPosted Jul 6, 2013
Pros: Leisure facilities, comfy bed, destination
Cons: Over priced menu, too expensive when there are cheaper resteraunts near by.
Location: Seaburn is a lovely area
Room was lovely and bed was really comfortable, there was no air conditioning but there was a fan in the cupboard (too loud to use while sleeping). The ice machine was broken so we had to fill the bath up with cold water and the safe in the room was broken. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and the leisure facilities were good.
