we were disappointed with the room

Posted Oct 4, 2014
we were put in a room used for people with disabilities which is great if you are disabled but to us it took the comfort away and the bathroom felt like a hospital bathroom (which is where i work) .i was disappointed as the price you pay compared to other hotels we've stayed was on par but without the luxury .

Good value

Booked this hotel because of the gym. If you are a regular gym goer you'll be very disappointed. No weights. Other than that nice but small pool. Great towel size.

Room filthy

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: It's closeness to metro for the airport
Cons: The cleaning staff
Location: Close to the metro and some handy shops etc
I arrived at Novotel late afternoon after a long journey from the north so was looking forward to a nice stay, check in was quick and helpful my room was ok so I chilled for a while having a glass of wine, after I decided to shower and to my horror there was hair all over the bath the bin was still full of rubbish so I complained the girl on reception said I could get another room but I was shattered and decided to stay I was brought clean towels etc but I did not sleep at all after finding the mess in the bathroom

NOVOTEL NEWCASTLE AIRPORT

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Include parking in the hotel costs - I was shocked to be charged £10 extra just for parking my car in the hotel car park.
Location: Good days out at Wallington National Trust property and Hadrians wall, plus trip to the coast.
Hotel OK but did not test facilities fully as I was out most of the time.

Value for money

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Cons: Fixtures and fittings in room showing more ware and tear than would be desired
Located away from TC; but easy access via metro tube a short walk away and they run every ten minutes. Being charged to park is a little annoying if your stay is more than a day or two, Hotel getting a little warn and edgy in places but still great value for money if booked in advance, staff are helpful. Drinks at bar very reasonable against the price of the Reading establishment. Huge shopping estate 5 mins away with Tesco's, Boots, and other useful stores for a longer stay.

Short stay weekend away

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Hotel is ideally situated for various things. For us it was a day at the seaside and a day shopping and splashing in the hotel pool. Ate dinner one night and it was superb. Kids food was a bit mature (very posh mozzarella macaroni)but was eaten eventually. Opposite a Toby carvery which was lovely. Ate dinner and also a breakfast there as part of the journey home. Mainly due to pricy hotel breakfast. But that's par for the course unless you pick breakfast inclusive. Pool was great as was hotel staff. Little slow in the bar service but that's really the only issue had. Will return in winter for sure.

Comfortable hotel in a great location

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Location Comfort
Cons: Double checking of the bath/bathroom by the cleaning staff
Location: Location is perfect for transport connections to the local airport or main town centre. Close by: Italian restaurant, McDonalds, rooftop bar
My stay was very comfortable! I marked down for cleanliness as the bathtub contained several intimate hairs not belonging to myself! The facilities are excellent, the bar (drink) prices extremely reasonable, and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
