Cheap hotel in the city centrePosted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Location, price
Cons: Insulate rooms from noise
Location: In the heart of Newcastle, close to transport and amenities
I picked this hotel for its central location and reasonably priced rooms. It's OK apart from the noise coming from the busy train track bridge right outside my window, and the bar next door.

Close to City CentrePosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: The staff and location
Cons: Wifi is a bit weak at times, Bar drinks are very reasonable, but could do with they had snacks or a vending machine.
Location: Close to city centre, quays and train station are all walking distance so everything really.
I have stayed here a few times, the rooms need a little deeper cleaning, there is dust and dirty window sills/skirting boards but the bedding and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing will do everything they can for you, never been able to fault them but sadly have a few times had issues with night time finding the night porter or receptionist or whatever their title is. Not sure where they vanish too lol. Hit and miss but sometimes you get biscuits in your room but love that they give hot chocolate and cleaners are very helpful too.

Great central location if that's what you need.Posted May 18, 2014
Pros: Great central location, lovely staff, good price.
Cons: The room cleanliness wasn't very good. When my son pushed the beds together, there was empty containers, drink cartons and feather boas underneath.
Location: Five minute walk from the station. Millions of things to do in Newcastle
I booked this hotel as I was taking my 5 year old Son to an event and it is located close to the train station and the venue. I was horrified when I realised that the hotel is directly above a busy bar and right next to a gentleman's club! In fairness, we never really heard any noise from the bar itself BUT it was very, very noisy all night. The room had lovely big sash windows which let lots of light in but also lots of noise so we heard shouting and sirens all night (ahh, lovely Newcastle) This would be a perfect hotel if you were having a night out in Newcastle but it was a bit too noisy for me (sober)

excellent location good value highly recommendedPosted May 17, 2014
I selected this hotel in a last-minute decision as business schedule changed due to its value@central location. Very happy for it. Would stay again. Highly recommended.

Good location with misleading facilitiesPosted May 13, 2014
Needed a reasonably-priced hotel in central Newcastle at short notice. Useful public car park next door was free after 5:00 pm. Requested king size bed not provided; shower attachment did not work. 'Explanation' given next morning was feeble. Otherwise, staff were helpful and friendly.

Great for the price! Would stay again!Posted May 7, 2014
Pros: Price and location
Cons: Clean the rooms!
Location: Realy central for bars, food, nightlife and university
I only paid £43 to stay here via Expedia and I was very pleasantly surprised. Decor was nice and the room was comfy. The only thing I must, must say is that it was clear that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed as there was a crushed biscuit on the floor, lots of glitter, nail cuttings and other stuff. When I arrived to the room, I went into the bathroom and the toilet had feaces in it and hadn't been flushed. This is a real let down I would stay again though as the price and location was great. Just clean the room!

Excellent Customer ServicePosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Customer service, breakfast.
Location: Good location for going out in the city.
We stayed on 5th & 6th of March, the hotel is clean and has everything that you need and in an excellent central location for going out. The cooked breakfast was delicious, and the buffet had good selection of cereals, fruit and pastries which were tasted freshly baked. For the price of the hotel you couldn't expect any more. There is a multi storey car park right opposite which is not owned by the hotel but parking is free overnight until 8.00am. What we were most impressed by was the excellent customer service from the staff, the guy who was on reception overnight both of the nights we were there was extremely helpful and went above and he even offered to put a car parking ticket on our car at 8.00am (when you start having to pay for parking) when his shift finished so that we didn't have to wake up early! I would definitely use the hotel again if I am in the area.
