Great value for money, practical and purposefulPosted Nov 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very helpful people, clean room, maybe a little dated in decor and design, but all good. A pity that there was no tea or coffee in the room, but at such a basic price it would be wrong to complain.

*Hotel* far from City CentrePosted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: See above.
Cons: Breakfast. Tea.
Location: Quite a distance to City Centre. Not much to do near by though. Big park was quite close by though.
It was reasonable for what i paid for. Mostly a bed & breakfast rather than a hotel. It looked quite pleasant from the outside. No toilet in the bedroom so quite an inconvenience. The bathroom was perhaps the only decent bit along with the TV inside the bedroom. Good quality TV. Breakfast was not so good in my opinion. The beans was good though it was a bit slushy. Bacon was brilliant. Sausage was quite dry and a bit overcooked. Toast was worst as it wasn't cooked properly because i can clearly see the rawness (frozen bits) from frozen. i.e. i can tell it was from frozen and it was probably past sell by date. Hash Brown was dry as well but ok taste. Overall below par but it's ok for a quite one night stay when you are not to bothered about the living experience (when you just want a place to stay in). The tea provided was awful. Tea spoon was dirty. Milk has been left out too long. Particles in sugar tin.

Enough facilities for the moneyPosted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: The price, frindly staff
Cons: Bed, shower
Location: We were there for 2 days to visit the university.
Rooms are rather old. Bed is not very confortable. Shower is very small (where to put your shampoo?). But it is OK to stay a few days for not too much money. Staff is friendly, lounge is nice. Wifi is good.

Ideal for the visit to NewcastlePosted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
My stay was fine. I knew that there would youngsters staying who like to drink and party and expected it to be noisy on Sat eve and Sunday early hours, which it was. The door banging of guests was not good but some people are brought up this way, to have no consideration for others. The breakfast was very nice, bacon top quality and was hot and tasty. My room was spacious and comfy.

Good digs not far from centerPosted Aug 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
This is a nice B&B in the Brighton Grove district a little outside of downtown Newcastle. The staff was friendly and helpful; we found the location great for exploring downtown and also for seeing a little of the multiethnic side of Newcastle. The room furnishings were a little old and faded, but fully serviceable. Plentiful tea and a nice sitting area in the lounge.

cheap and cheerfulPosted Nov 12, 2011
Location: City centre the gate is great food cinema and pubs . Plus eldon shopping centre
The Brighton is a nice little guest house but it could do with a bit of money spending on it also our room was on the ground floor which ment some noise problems like a extremely loud telephone . The room was a nice size but the ensuite is so tiny. Beds where comfy . The Guy that was on reception when we arrived was a little grumpy. The breakfast is lovely and served promptly and with a smile . Overall stay here for cheap cheerfull accommodation but if you could afford more then go else where
