V good hotel close to all attractions and stationPosted Jun 24, 2015
Asked for room with view and got one. Staff very friendly and breakfast choices excellent . Too much portion size for us so smaller ones asked for 2nd day much better. Afternoon tea brilliant!

Nice hotel with a great central location.Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Easy check in/out, excellent courteous staff. Will definitely be my first choice hotel if back in Newcastle.
Location: Nice location next to the Quayside area.
Booked in early, concierge got me parked up for the night in the adjacent car park.

Wi fi very flaky, heating sporadicPosted May 16, 2015
Pros: Location is very good.
Cons: Heating, chairs, wi fi, response from reception.
The hotel is overpriced for the comfort it provides. While the location is central, heating is sporadic (I was shaking in cold while trying to control or even start the heating, and tried to call the reception several time but without anyone picking the phone). The wi fi is very weak, and often non-existent. Calls to reception led to no improvement. There is no decent chair to sit to do work in the room, and hotel staff knocks the door at 9 or even earlier to clean, as if in great hurry.

Hotel in NewcastlePosted May 16, 2015
Hotel restaurant and lobby beautiful. Rooms are dated don't even have a real coffee maker in the room.

Lovely hotel, very close to city centre which has benefits you can walk to where ever you want to go, however, disadvantage it's noisy outside with people singing from a night out well into the early hours. It's swings and roundabouts

Great hotelPosted Mar 30, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel itself was lovely in a great location right next to the castle with easy access to the quay side, and is decorated to a high standard that suits the age and grandeur of the building. The bar is really nice. We ate in the restaurant that night and choose the 3 course offer with a bottle of wine for £59 per couple and the wine, food and service was great. The room itself had everything required and the bed was comfy with a nice view of the castle, but it could benefit From a refresh. Breakfast was included in the price and was satisfactory. On leaving we were never asked if we had enjoyed our stay, we didn't find reception to be very attentive or informative on arrival or check out really, but we definitely plan to stay again.

quality late bookingPosted Mar 5, 2015 on Hotels
Booked the hotel on the spur of a moment as we having a night out in Newcastle and got a good reduced price, but did not include breakfast. Hotel service was good, when we arrived the we had to park on the street but he concierge later moved the car to the hotel car park. Our room overlooked the main train line into Newcastle but the noise was not unbearable. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the bars and restaurants of Gray Street and the Big Market area, also has a lift level with access to the top of the Quayside area. If I could get a similar price again I would definitely stay here but may not it is was full price.
