“Highly Recommended!”

“Terrific location excellent service”

We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Newport Rhode Island which for many years was our sailing destination. The hotel was located within walking distance of the attractions but was in a quiet section away from the noise etc. The host was very helpful and gracious, the breakfast was good and very generous. Each evening there was wine and cheese served to the guests, and we met very interesting people. My wife highly recommend this b & b.

“OK place to stay”

The location was very convenient. The rooms are very small. The owners have a dog that barked a bit during the evening. I would stay again, but not likely to be my first choice.

“will go again”

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about area activities.The room was bigger than i had expected and clean .We were given a free wine bottle coupon for when we visited the vineyard,which was a nice surprise.The location is amazing plus the benefit of free parking is a huge plus!,The breakfast was absolutely delicious .We are planning a trip back this summer,and will definately be staying here again.

“A truly Wonderful Experience”

Anyone who is not impressed with this Inn doesn't know what gracious living is! The Inn and it's Innkeeper are first class. It was a delight to stay there! The room and ambiance of the place are beyond compare. It made our stay all the more special. I just can't say enough good things about it! If you go to Newport, YOU MUST STAY HERE!

“Newport Gem”

If you are going to Newport and like the convenience of your accomadations being close to whats happening the Almondy Inn is your place. It's right downtown walking distance to just about everything. There is shopping, restaurants, and entertainment all along Thames st. The Inn is magnificent ,I got the feel of a home away from home. You come and go as you pleasebut in a home setting . Gourmet breakfast is offered in the morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon. The rooms have a warm feel to them ,very cozy. I can't wait to get some time and go back with my wife ,it was the perfect destination for our anniversary.

Walking THames street is full of activity. The cliff walk is not to be missed wear comfortable shoes and venture through the rough section of the walk there are spectacular views along the ocean nthat you don't get on the paved path.

“Unbelievably charming B&B in perfect location!”

What a wonderful surprise! We typically stay in resorts, but figured we would try a B&B to celebrate our anniversary. The Inn was extremely clean, situated in an ideal location in downtown, and the decor was charming. The owner was a tremendous cook, and pleasant conversationalist. I don't normally recommend places to stay since people's tastes tend to vary wildly, but I am certain any traveller would experience the utmost in enjoyment here.

“A great get-away!”

I took my fiancé to Newport as a surprise for his birthday. Newport is a lively town, even off season. The location of The Almondy Inn is perfect - and our weekend was romantic and peaceful!

“Lovely Inn”

We really enjoyed our stay here; great location - walking distance to shopping, restaurants, attractions. Cliff walk, mansions, Fort Adams a short drive away. The hotel decor was very nice; loved the fresh flowers and furniture. The owners and staff were very pleasant and eager to answer questions and provide information. The breakfasts were a tasty and satisfying start to our days. We stayed in the Burgundy Room, which is lovely with an ample sitting room separate from the sleeping area. However, it was described as having somewhat of a view of the harbor . . . that is certainly a stretch, as there is a partial, obstructed view from a smaller, side window that is not visible directly while sitting in the room. However, that was a minor disappointment in that we spent most daylight hours out and about. The only other issue we had was with the heat, which during one night was extreme, requiring us to get up and open the windows in the midde of the night. This was most likely due to the owners trying to regulate the indoor temperature in the spring (there were dramatic swings from day to day, and from day to night). All in all, these were relatively minor issues for us, and would not deter us from staying at the Almondy again.

When to go
Definitely go in summer season - in early spring, as we went, many shops and restaurants have not yet opened for the season. Additionally, we took the ferry to Block Island, most things are not open until late spring to summer, so while we enjoyed seeing the island, we would have enjoyed it much more if more places were open.
