Great B&B; very close to the in-town action!!Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Perfect location, just steps up the hill from Thames Street, in the heart of downtown Newport. The room was nice and comfortable.
Cons: There was a low/steady buzzing during the middle of the night. At first, it sounded like an alarm. But, I think it was the A/C...a bit annoying.
Location: Perfect location. Steps from Thames Street at Bannister's Wharf. Walking distance to everything in the town center. Parking onsite a real plus!
I stayed at the Inn for a quick overnight this week (primarily for business purposes). Wish I could have stayed longer and added a bit more pleasure to the trip!

Lovely B&B close to shopping and restaurants.Posted Jul 20, 2014
Almondy is lovely. We had a fantastic breakfast every morning and Evelyn was so knowledgeable about Newport history, and sights. We'll be back.

Hands Down Best Hotel Experience EverPosted Jun 17, 2014
Location: Close to the center of town. Dozens of fine restaurants in walking distance, plenty to see and do. Shops are lovely.
The Almondy simply is superb. Absolutely spotless room, beautifully appointed. Location is close enough to the water and center of town to walk to. Breakfast was exceptional. We have never done this before but we booked the same room for a few months from now and will probably do so for some time to come.

Almondy InnPosted Jun 14, 2014
This was so much more than we expected. Firstly, the location is perfect. Its close to the main street, Thames St and tourist buses that run to various locations. Its around 200m from the wharf area that contains restaurants and boat tours. Secondly, the owner Evelyn is a font of information who made such a difference to our decisions on where to go and what to do. Thirdly, breakfast is as good as you would get in any hotel or anywhere; home baked muffins, so many different ways with eggs and fresh fruit every day. Evelyn also hosts an evening wine and cheese that is a good way to swap experiences with other guests. Finally, an excellent bed and peaceful nights sleep. If we return, we wont be staying anywhere else. Kevin&Louise Adelaide Australia.

Good location for Thames St & wharves.Posted Jun 10, 2014
The inn was comfortable & clean. It was just off Thames Street, close to many restaurants & shops. The area was packed w/ noisy revellers when we were there. We prefer a quieter neighborhood. We stayed 2 nights. One breakfast included a stale muffin (grocery store-bought) w/ baked ham& egg& fruit. The next day we had a mushroom & prosciutto quiche w/ fruit. The room & bed were large & comfortable. The bathroom was nice but had a pedestal sink w/ just 1 small shelf to put toiletries. The inn had plenty of parking for guests. We would consider staying there again if we go back but ideally would like to stay near the beaches or near the mansions.

Accommodating for early parking and check in, sorry we missed wine and cheese at night but the breakfast was amazing and hospitality was genuine and a pleasure chatting with other guests, can't wait to return!

One night wasn't enough!Posted May 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Almondy was one of the best vacation experiences I've had. Small and quaint, it's on a beautiful, quiet side street, but still only a 2 minute walk to all the stores and bars/restaurants you'll ever need. The owners were so inviting and kind, it was like staying at a friends house. A 5-star experience from start to finish! My wife and I will definitely be back!
