Walk to the beach and about 2 miles to downtown. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Free coffee and continental breakfast too.

Pros: The access to the beach and restaurants across the street to eat.
Cons: inside the rooms need up grade
Location: Beach, cliff walk, & seaport district about a mile away.
I have stayed at this hotel w/ my family before but not for a few years. The condition of the rooms is not very good. In the bedroom the paint was peeling. The clock did not work because the wire was frayed & some of the lights did not work. Also on our first night we never had any maid service so we had to clean up our own room when we got back to our room from a day of seaport shopping. Since we only stayed a few nights I let it go. But I will tell you that I really have to think long & hard about staying here again in the future.

Fine for the pricePosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Close proximity to beach & cliff walk. Inexpensive. Liked the fresh fruit offered at breakfast.
Cons: Offering real half and half with coffee is preferred. Food choice at breakfast was limited.
Location: Cliff walk and beach. Restaurants were also in walking distance.
We weren't expecting anything upscale, so were not disappointed. The ability to walk to the beach was nice & saved on parking fees. We are not a family that spends much time in hotel rooms when we travel, so we didn't mind the dated decor too much. I would tell travelers who share our frugal nature that it's an OK place to sleep.

Nice hotel close to the beach and restaurantsPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Close to a number of good family restaurants
Cons: air conditioning
Location: Right on the beach with access to Atlantic Beach Club private beach - much cleaner that Easton Beach
Overall a great place to stay - only downside was that the air conditioning wasn't working very well.

close to NewportPosted Jun 7, 2014
The hotel was close to Newport, but located off a main road, so it was quieter, with a lovely view out the back. Large room.

Atlantic Beach Hotel near First BeachPosted Jun 6, 2014
Pros: I liked the size of the room, and that it included a kitchen area. I also liked that it's very close to the beach and restaurants.
Cons: The breakfast selection could be improved.
Location: Beach beach beach!! Also, there are multiple restaurants around within walking distance. Downtown Newport is a mile down the road.
I had found this hotel on Expedia after deciding to take a couple day vacation in the Newport area, and the price was right so I went for it. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the hotel. The room was huge, more like an apartment than a hotel room. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. I stayed in the beginning of June so it was pretty quiet, before everyone came down for vacation and beach days. It's a 2 minute walk to First Beach, and there's bars/restaurants all within walking distance. The breakfast is complimentary but they don't have a lot of things to choose from. I really enjoyed my stay here and will do it again. The only thing that bothered me about the hotel was the mattress; I like a really soft, plush mattress and the one in my room was firm and uncomfortable for me.

Unexpectedly awesome!!Posted May 20, 2014
Really was skeptical about booking here but because of the significant price difference, thought I would give it a shot. So pleasantly surprised--and I am very picky when it comes to hotels!! Free parking. Free breakfast---yes it's continental but most hotels charge you for a bottle of water so getting to walk down to free coffee, orange juice and unlimited food was refreshing. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I was late for bfast one morning and they went in the back and made me a plate to go. The room was huge, and again, surprisingly nice. Awesome view for being away from the center of town. Will always come back here now instead of the overpriced center of town hotels!! It really was a hidden gem!

This is a nice hotel close to beachPosted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, view and quiet
Location: Atlantic Beach restaurant was excellent and across the street
I enjoyed my stay. It was very convenient to town and near the beach, although I didn't use the beach due to cold weather. Breakfast was not very good, although perhaps that is the best one can expect. Rolls were dry. Staff was very pleasant and room was clean.
