Very friendly desk staff.Posted Jul 25, 2015
The desk staff was very helpful in finding our way around the area and suggesting places to see and places to eat. We would definitely return there when in Newport again.

Good location, free parking, but dirty.Posted Jul 11, 2015
The hotel was not clean, either in the public areas or the rooms. The staff was not friendly. The air conditioners and decor were old and dirty looking. But on the positive side, parking was free and the location was great.

Nice place near NewportPosted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: I love that they use white duvet covers and change them with every guest, along with the sheets. The breakfast was good. Enjoyed the afternoon snacks.
Cons: Quieter, more efficient A/C in rooms. Access to microwavable plates to reheat leftovers from area restaurants.
Location: Mansions, Cliff Walk, comedy club, sailing, Mystic Seaport (CT), and walking around Newport.
Our family of four shared a room with two queen beds for four days. The room was clean when we arrived except for the bathroom sink, which I took care of myself. I love that they use white duvet covers and change them with every guest, along with the sheets. The A/C was loud and did little to remove the dampness from the room. Granted, it was quite warm and humid during our visit. I wish there had been more space to hang out together. To play cards or a game we had to go to the lounge/breakfast area. Otherwise we'd have to play on a bed which isn't easy on the back :) The breakfast was good: many options and decent quality. Cookies and coffee/tea in the afternoon was a nice surprise. I would have loved to have access to some microwavable plates to heat up restaurant leftovers for subsequent meals. I asked at the kitchen but they had none. All in all, it was a very decent place to stay. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly.

Great stay near many attractionsPosted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Location was good and price reasonable.
Location: Near my daughter's college. So much to do in Newport area too.
We always look for Hampton Inn when traveling. For consistent quality, great breakfast and reasonable price, you can't beat Hampton. The tasteful decor and comfort factor add to the appeal.

Great hotel!Posted Apr 28, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel staff was nothing short of excellent! Helped recommend restaurants and places for live music. Helped us with anything we needed and did it with a smile on their faces.

A stones throw to Newport.Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Enjoyed our first evening using the hot tub for all of those middle-aged aches and pains. Enjoyed having the coffee bar available 24 hours.
Cons: Add a 10X and/or 20X make-up mirror to each bathroom. Offer a higher quality breakfast buffet; microwave eggs are yucky.
Location: As noted above.
This was a three night get-away for my family to enjoy at least a portion of April Vacation away from home. Had reservations to tour the Blithewold Mansion and Gardens and was not disappointed! This is in Bristol, RI approx. 10miles or so from the Hampton Inn, Middletown. Enjoyed a day in Newport looking in shops and having lunch at the Brick Alley...very good. Did a driving tour of Bellvue Ave. FYI, I was charged double and did not learn of the error until it had already been processed at my bank. This was not an easy fix and am still waiting for it to be amended! This might not seem to be a huge issue accept, I had booked two rooms so the mistake has been a hefty one!

PerfectPosted Apr 22, 2015 on Hotels
Visiting for a family wedding. The hotel was for our first night since we had to join the wedding party for the next two nights. It was less than half the price of the Viking Hotel AND included breakfast which was just perfect for our family of 6. Great service too. Newport is a great place to visit.

Great hotel close to NewportPosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Complimentary breakfast, WiFi, coffee in the lobby, close to Newport
Cons: Mattresses and pillow could be more comfortable
This is a great hotel to stop at for a 2-day trip to Newport. It is located only a short drive away from the cliff walk, mansions and Tennis HOF. We enjoyed the breakfast and complementary coffee throughout the day. Beds were clean, with average mattresses and pillows, which are sufficient for a comfortable sleep. We traveled with a 10-month old, and the hotel provided a crib, which actually was a fold-out playpen that performed crib functions well enough for a short stay. WiFi internet and parking are also free. There are several restaurants in the walking distance of the hotel (i.e. Applebees, IHOP), but the you the fancier dining on the Newport waterfront is only 5 minutes away by car.
