Nice hotel & very friendly staff

Loved the walking distance to Newport. Hotel offers shuttles, but too nice out to take advantage of that offer.

Ok Hyatt.

Very thin walls. No more movie rentals in room. Room service breakfast much more expensive than typical hotel.

Small, rather shabby rooms. 70s era baths. Low quality towels and toiletries. Unhelpful staff in restaurants and housekeeping, although much better at front desk. Food is diner quality at 4 star prices. Indoor pool, spa and fitness tiny, poorly maintained.

Nice Getaway!

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: The spa was wonderful and the views are amazing.
Cons: The indoor pool is small and crowded. A hot tub would be nice too.
Great stay, great views, great staff! Will definitely be returning again.

Nice spring break hotel

Close to Newport center and has free shuttle to center where there's lots of restaurants, stores and activities even during off season. We had a rental car which we needed to get to see the mansions and ocean drive. Definitely take advance of the 5 mansion pass!

Very nice hotel. Staff attentive and helpful.

Had a very nice room overlooking the water. The hotel has a shuttle service into downtown Newport, but unfortunately it rained all day Saturday. We had a very nice get-away weekend.

Fun to be on Goat island, but close to attractions

Posted Feb 13, 2015
One more bridge takes you over to Goat Island...very nice lobby, bar, & restaurant...beds are comfortable with big screen TV...Good showers The food & drink are very good... Front desk service & bell service could be better...They do not serve complimentary breakfast...

Nice Hotel in Newport!

Posted Feb 6, 2015
Pros: Our bathroom was AMAZING. I have never stayed in a hotel with a bathroom so large! The breakfast buffet was great!
Cons: The room's heating system was dry which irritated our sinuses. Bed dressing were strange. Sheet, thin blanket and sheet only.
Location: While not in walking distance...at least in the cold... there were shops and restaurants nearby. Mansions and beach were a short drive away.
My husband and I decided on a one night get away to Newport....no children, no pets. We chose the Hyatt due to location of attractions, the views provided and to be honest the affordability. We were not disappointed. The room was great and the bathroom was AMAZING....so large. Because of our short stay we did not take advantage of the fitness areas or spa but would certainly consider that if the stay was longer.
