Too hot a/c, unhelpful rude staffPosted Jan 5, 2014
The room heater is pre set to very hot temp, we checked in the height of the snowstorm and found the room really hot, the a/c is preset and it can not be changed. The bfast, it should not be called as such but should only be called coffee as there is hardly any food to eat except waffle and slice of bread and pastry. However the room is clean and modern and spacious. The front office staff is rude, we arrived past midnight at height of snowstorm and what i got was 'i can not help you i am just alone here remark' he helped us park our car properly to a safe spot, although i had to do the snow shoveling at the height of the storm to prepare the spot after 12 hrs of driving braving the storm! I would not recommend this place if you can find somewhere else with a better service, get another.

Budget-friendly, sparse breakfast.Posted Nov 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was clean but we were somewhat disturbed by a special printed flyer about maintaining the safety of your person and belongings. The breakfast was certainly free and the choices were toast, waffles, coffee/tea/juice/etc., two kinds of cereal, cold hard boiled eggs, and I can't remember if there was any fruit. We parked close to the entrance, under the balconies of the rooms on the 2nd floor, and our car got peppered with cigarettes (smoked and unsmoked) and we're reasonably certain that someone peed off the balcony onto the windshield. So for the money, everything was fine, but I recommend that you park far away from the building and be aware that you'll have to go elsewhere for a healthy breakfast (I recommend Annie's).

Quick stop for major zzzz'sPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: The night manager (or owner, not sure which) was quite welcoming and even waited a few minutes before closing the office so I could run an errand.
Cons: I stayed in Rm 105 which was an indoor construction -- very good for the price. Previously, the room I was in was on the outside and was very musty.
Location: Late night food options for guests who arrive and need to eat. Everything nearby was closed!
I was looking for an inexpensive option to catch a few hours of sleep before getting back on the road for the next destination. Although I was not thrilled about my first experience, I did remember that it was clean, just outdated and musty smelling. I'm so glad I gave it another try -- the room to which was assigned was much better than what I had experienced before and in fact, I found it quite comfortable and an excellent deal for the cost. I will book again with Newport Travelodge and request that same room.

Nice hotel near by to everythingPosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: Price, cleanliness & a very good hotel staff.
Cons: I'm a fisherman we usually check out at 5AM it would be nice if the free continental breakfast could be ready by then.
Location: There's a good Diner near by called the blue plate great eats at reasonable prices.

Secound VisitPosted Nov 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location but, the room was dated and not renovated as the rest of the facility. This time only a small section near the front office was open and this section has not updated, no flat screen TV or new mattress. I was given a room with a non working phone and could not get a wake-up call when requested. The front desk was baffeled in trying to resolve the issue. Just changing the room did not seem to be an option. Also the OJ machine did not work or the waffel maker and no fruit was offered for the Breakfast.

Second TripPosted Nov 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was my second time at this hotel and was very disappointed with this stay ! They close the rear part of the hotel for the offseason and the main building has not been updated, no flat screen TV and no new comfy mattress. This time the phone in the room did not work and I was unable to get a wake up call the front dest staff seemed baffled and was unable to fix it or give me a different room !!! The OJ machine was broken and the waffle maker at the breakfast room and no fruit !,
