Cheap and reflects it

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Location: Not too far from Newport, not too far from coffee & restaurants.
Cons: THE SMELL. Fix the drain.
Location: Newport was fab. The mansions and the Cliff Walk were amazing. The nightlife was great fun.
First thing that caught my attention was the smell - cheap perfume. Once I got home (after 2 days) I had to wash my SUITCASE because the kids said it stunk. Nice. And don't turn on the heat - because then it smells like cheap perfume on fire. Ugh. Pillows: Huge and rock hard. Great if I had a neck condition that required me to sleep with my neck at a 90 degree angle. Painful otherwise. I gave up and used the spare blanket as a pillow. My husband suffered through and complained all weekend about his neck/back. Bed: similarly rocklike. At least it was flat. Cleanliness: Other than the smell, it was OK. Bath: Super low toilet which didn't bother me but would anyone with knee problems. Tub drain leaked so couldn't take a bath - which was a real disappointment for me. Next time I'll pay more to stay somewhere nicer. Just not having to exist in that nauseating smell would be worth it! Truly a sad hotel experience.

Very pleasant stay

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Location: Just a 10 minute drive to Newport, but longer when there is traffic.
The location was convenient and the hotel manager was very helpful. He even lent me his personal charger as I had forgotten mine. The breakfast was substantial and provided a good variety. The room was decent and had all the conveniences. The Wi-fi worked well too. Overall, nothing to complain about at all. I would stay there again.

Excellent Budget Friendly Hotel

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Price, location, front desk receptionist, cleanliness,
Cons: More seats in the breakfast room
Location: The beach is 10 minutes away. The mansions are 12 minutes away. Downtown Newport, which is excellent for shopping and seafood, is 15 minutes away.
It's shocking that such an inexpensive hotel could be so conveniently located in Newport/Middletown. The room was modern, updated with a flat screen tv, microwave, and mini fridge. Didn't use the pool, though it did seem a tad small, but who needs a pool when the beach is 10 minutes away. Big plus, the girl at the front desk was extremely friendly, gave us tips on what to see/do, and managed to get our room ready before the 3pm check in. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others in the future.

Affordable Hotel Near Newport

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Cons: AC Unit was falling out of the wall a little. Nothing to complain about but just enough that it's worth noting.
Location: Near Surf Shops, Beaches, Restaurants, NEWPORT, and liquor stores. Convenient location.
This hotel is within 15 minutes of Thames Street and 5-10 minutes of First and Second Beach. Great location and even better prices. When most hotels are charging $450 you can get this place for $150. Sure you have to drive a little ways, but if you're just using it to sleep, this is a great spot. Clean, simple, cheap, and comfortable.

Pros: see above
Location: Convenient to Newport, local restaurants and services. Quiet.
Very pleasant stay. Updated room, in all significant respects...beyond expectations for a "budget" motel (Newport area is NOT cheap). Outside clean, but bland. Room, however, has had recent facelift, and looks good. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Breakfast a bit better than average "budget" scenario. The one drawback.....charged, at check-in, for use of room safe. RIDICULOUS !!!!! A small charge, but annoying. Not listed on website, these guys must be taking lessons from the airline industry. Check-in attendant was courteous, but not what you'd call friendly. These small things make a difference, and overlooking them is not a smart idea.

Pros: Breakfast were pretty good, only positive thing I could say about the hotel.
Cons: Lots, internet usage, better climate control in the rooms. Most rooms need an upgrade in the bathrooms and beds.
Location: Location was okay, tough to get on the main road turning left, due to high traffic volume.
This was one of my worse experiences at a hotel in a long time. Was overpriced for what we received. Could not get a comfortable temperature in our room. Pool is unbelievable small, the picture on the web is deceiving! WIFI was incredibly slow or not working at all. My wife and I use IPads, most times could not get connected or if we did took forever too load anything.

Very basic

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: On a positive note, the desk manager was very nice and helpful. Location is great, 10 minutes from Newport.
Cons: Very dated. Old furniture/TV.
Location: Location only 10 minute drive right down to Newport. The beach is 10 minutes away.
This hotel is very old. The pool is tiny, doesn't look like picture on website at all. When we checked in, there was no TV remote. The staff was very helpful and did get us one but had to "find" it and then reprogram it. There was no welcome book to list area restaurants and no TV guide for channels. They advertise free HBO but you have no idea what channel that is unless you ask. It was an old TV from 15 years ago. We obviously didn't go to watch TV but when you're in the room, we like to have it on especially at night before bed. It was definitely not worth the money. Would have paid more for a higher quality hotel.
