Long Time Coming

Pros: I liked the room, and the fact they handled a guest problem quickly and effectively.
Cons: The hotel in general looks old, used and outdated, so it needs a good cleaning and true cost effective upgrades in the lobby, dining area.
Location: Lots of shops and restaurants near by, so that was really great. The hotel could use much better signage. It was hard to find entrance from road.
This is a hotel that is past it's hey day. It is a bit run down, it needs to be refreshed. The check-in process took about 20 minutes, which was too long, but I did like my room. The lobby was a bit old and part of it was not functional at all and should of been closed off completely. The pool area needs to be updated. The breakfast was good, but the dining area needs to be totally updated. They had a rule you could not take food out, if my mom was with me, that would of been a real problem, often she is not feeling well and I take food up to her. There were a bunch of kids at a basketball camp that were up and down the halls, and in and out of rooms making all kinds of noise late at night. I called down to the front desk, and within 20 minutes there was no more noise. Overall the staff was slow, but great. The food for breakfast was great, just wish they had bacon and sausage, and my room was also good for the price. They just need to step it up a bit. I would stay there again, but a short stay, not a long one.

Awful stay

Our experience was not the best. The staff could have been just a bit friendlier when we arrived for our check-in. In our room we had a drawer from the dresser that would not stay closed...the in the bathroom the water never got hot for a shower and the water did not drain...so you had to stand in the water you showered in. The pool closed an hour early for some unknown reason. We will not be staying here again.

Convention Center in the name was deceiving

Thought this was going to be a lot nicer than it turned out to be. Read reviews beforehand and was totally shocked when we arrived. Worried about the type of people it attracted, there were signs in the lobby warning about parties and unregistered guests. Our room's window was a view of a hallway, the lobby and the indoor pool. There was no safety lock on our door, only holes where it once was. Toilet kept running and shower was inadequate.

Avoid!

Pros: NOTHING. Unsafe area, loud parking lot, drunk people fighting, horrible front desk staff, misleading information posted online, so on and so forth.
Cons: Knock it down and sell it to a hotel chain that cares about its customers.
Location: Watch cops break up fights in the parking lot and listen to loud music all night long.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Especially if you have a dog... They decide whether you can stay based on what your dog LOOKS like... which is exactly what happened to us at midnight on a Friday, when there were no other hotel rooms available within a 2-3 hour drive. I guess they prefer old yippy dogs with bladder problems to well behaved quiet ones. The two people at the desk also gave us completely conflicting information on the dog policy. You can't rely on what is posted online, and you won't know until you get there if they feel like having you stay there that day... So we wound up sleeping (trying unsuccessfully actually) IN OUR CAR with our DOG and our KID. Yup, that's right. If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely shocking. We will now be going out of our way to avoid this chain of hotels and every other associated business - and will make sure everyone we know hears about it.

Pros: The close location to the Hampton Coliseum.
Cons: The registration process could be improved and the housekeeping process could drastically improve.
The check in process to 30 minutes, even though I pre-registered online.

Old, cheap hotel close to convention center

Waited in registration line 30 minutes because there was only one person checking guests in but 2 people at desk. Clerk very rude when I asked question. Unable to add a guest to room. Smelled like smoke in lobby. Dirty carpets. Old lobby furniture a lot of work needs to be done. Lighting in hall bad, overflowing trash cans but it was an inexpensive hotel.

Worst HOTEL EVER

Didn't even stay the night, the lobby had a planter box filled with fake flowers covered in dust. SO filthy you couldn't tell if they were white or simply gray. Dirty, worn furniture in the lobby. Took one look and fled. God only knows what we would find living in the beds. We arrived at 4:20 and missed the cancellation by 20 minutes. I think I deserve a full refund. Had to scour for a hotel for the night. Very bad experience that I do not care to repeat, so I will reconsider before using Expedia again.

Keep on driving

This hotel was by far one of the worse hotels I have ever stayed. It had a very bad smell and the water from the shower head came out brown for the first 10 seconds. House keeping was decent but it did not made up for all the other issues. The breakfast section was very small and had a huge wall mirror as a lousy attempt to make the room look bigger than what it actually was. For a price of only $10 dollars less than their neighbors, holiday inn, I expected more. Needless to say I will not be coming back.
