Non-smoking room unacceptable, misrepresented

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: wasn't an acceptable non-smoking room, see above
Cons: I think the entire hotel suffers from air quality mixed in the HVAC from the smoking floors.
Location: n/a
requested a room, two beds, non-smoking. Although a sign was posted in the hallway that 9th floor (topmost floor in the hotel) was non-smoking, the smell of cigarette smoke permeated the room. Smell in the room was irritating to the throat/nose. I called the hotel desk, they said there was a $300 fine for smoking in the room that they enforce. They offered to come up and spray the room (!). We booked a reservation at a nearby Marriott and left the hotel. The on-duty desk clerk wouldn't give me a refund or any record of our stay since it was booked online. So we paid for service that wasn't rendered and it's my position that the hotel wasn't fairly represented as advertised on Expedia. Non-smoking in my book means non-smoking including the quality of the air, smell of the room rented. I would like to hear from customer service. All I have from the hotel is their business card. I have a receipt for our stay 1/12/15 at the Marriott.

Close to CNU

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: Price and convenience.
Cons: You get what you pay for.
Location: 3 blocks away from a mall that has good restaurants and movie theaters.
We chose this hotel because it is close to CNU and the mall with restaurants. It is unfortunately also right et to the highway so you hear the traffic all night long. The hotel was ok and you get what you pay for.

Good Hotel The Price

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the water hot.
The check in experience could have been better. We were unable to enter our assigned room as four separate keys failed to unlock the mechanism. After being offered an alternative in a handicap accessible room in the basement (first floor) which I refused, an appropriate room was located.

Old but nice hotel with rude desk workers

Posted Dec 30, 2014
The hotel workers were far from polite although the made was helpful at least. The hotel was nice but a little outdated. There was no ventilation not even in the bathroom. The business center wasn't working. They made us feel unwelcome for simply asking them to do their job so we left a night early.

Not luxurious, but, nice overall

Posted Dec 20, 2014
The bedcover had a couple stains on it that looked like coffee stains and there was a loose piece of carpet like it had gotten wet and stretched. There were a couple of scrape/ spackle spots on one wallb other than that the room was clean and the staff was nice and personable. All in all the hotel was nice and clean. Did not have a stale or old hotel smell like many do. I have no geniune complaints as my stay was pleasant and the walls were thick enough where i could not hear my neighbors.

Looks can be deceiving

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: The view from the window... the pillows were comfortable
Cons: pretty much everything ....
Location: unknown... was there for work
The photos look nice. The room is fairly large and the beds /pillows somewhat comfortable. The rooms are old though and need a face-lift. There were several patches on the ceiling from water damage giving cause for concern regarding drinking the water. The tub had been re-enameled several times but it is peeling again. I could not tell if it needed cleaning or was permanently stained. Called to ask for a blanket and was told to come on down. Entire hotel smells of stale smoke much like the old hotels in Vegas....

Nice outward appearance and cheap price but once you get to tHerooms you know why. Sheets not changed smokey odors and general lack of attention. Place has potential but current management not getting close to it.

Not "old world" just old.

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Location was easy to find off major highway.
Cons: Complete update and renovation to modernize most features of the hotel and rooms.
Location: N/A
It looks like it was magnificent when it was built, but today it lacks any attraction. I was not even sure it was a hotel as I arrived when it was dark. It looked more like an institutional building from the outside. Room lighting was very poor. Bed was not very comfortable. Bathroom very dated. They did not do anything bad, but it is not a place a business traveler would like to stay for a restful evening. I would not go back.
