Old and in need of a major remodel.Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The location to the Hampton Coliseum.
Cons: Seriously, this could take a while so I'll just say EVERYTHING!
Location: It was close to the Hampton Coliseum and shopping in the area.
Unfortunately, I didn't do my normal research upon booking this hotel. So I guess I really shouldn't complain. It was all spelled out by other reviewers in black & white. I needed a room for 2 nights to attend the 2014 Jazz Festival. Upon entry into the lobby I knew I was in trouble. The old mildew smell said it all. When I opened the door to the room the smell was just awful. I immediately unpacked my Lysol and went to work. The bathroom sink was being held up by two shower curtain rods for legs. I wish now I had taken a picture. The owner should just consider a total remodel. They would be better off and not have to read this horrible reviews. Would I recommend this to my family, not at all! Savannah Suites should be embarrassed to have their names associated with this one.

One step away from being a homeless shelter...Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: It's a short distance to the Hampton Coliseum
Cons: The carpeting needs to be replaced; the hotel should purchase more towels to accommodate the guests; the bed linens need updating
Location: Conveniently located right off Mercury Blvd.
I am grateful that the less fortunate have a place to call home at the Savannah Suites, and I must admit the residents were friendly as they were panhandling.

AVOID this placePosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: The great overpowering smell of incense.
Cons: Sell the place to someone who cares about the conditions people stay in.
Fridge leaked condensation on floor when turned on, table had sticky substance on it and bed mattress actually "crunched" when sat on. The hotel has long-term residents on every floor and they have no courtesy for out of town guests, children ran the hallway yelling until well after 12:30 and since the front desk closes early, you can't report it to anyone. Remote control had no batteries, blanket appeared filthy (wish I had taken pictures) and had holes in it. Terrible conditions but it was too late and with the conference in town others were too busy to get a room somewhere else.

YukyPosted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
I must say that out of all the years that I have traveled and all the hotels, motels, inns and suites, this was by far the worst. From the dirty, barely lit parking lot to the elevator and ultimately your room it was horrible. I truly felt as if a SWAT raid was going to happen at some point due to the shady nature of the location, lighting and filth.

A real dumpPosted Jun 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
I never write reviews but have to put into words how BAD this place is. Room smelled foul, air-conditioner did not work properly, bed and linens were very cheap. We turned around and left.

Right in the middle!Posted May 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Savannah Suites Hampton is right in the middle of all the events that Hampton and Newport News has to offer the visitor new to the area. Perfect for families because of the stove, icebox, and microwave to prepare meals for your family. A good place to stay!

No complaints beside a crying baby in the room next to me
