Hotel needs updating in a big way!

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: The people running the hotel were very nice and did try to solve any problems we had during our stay.
Cons: I am sorry to say that this hotel is very outdated. It is in need of lots of improvements.
Location: The location is not that good as it seems to be in a run down neighborhood. It is close to Niagara Falls it did not take long to walk to the falls.
This hotel is in need of updating to bring it into this century. Rooms were small and bathrooms in need of repair and new equipment. Also seems some of the rooms have been rented out for low income housing. In our first room there was a leak coming down from the room above and we had to change rooms.

Poor night sleep

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: Not much.
The walls were so thin that any sound from other rooms came in clear. And there was lots of noise, especially in the early morning, 4 am Also, the cable system was not functioning and there were only 5 channels that came in to watch.

Excellent Value for the Money

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Pros: The personnel always ready to help and that is close to the main Niagara Fall tourist area.
Location: 15 min walk to all main attractions in the city. Montana's rest is an excellent place to eat a steak. Their beer is the cheapest in town.
The Empress Inn is an excellent value for the money. Expect no more. I disagree with the negative comments. Personnel is ready to listen to you and help you out so is the new management. Beds are nice, the water temp and pressure is excellent. Cleanliness is superb. Comfort is in line with the price. Have no compaints. I would go again. Thanks

Place to stay and little more.

Posted Nov 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was a motel and quite about a quarter mile from the main area of the falls. Parking was included which was a benefit. The service was very good from the attendants. The room was on the cleaner side, however I found pills over by the dresser. For $50 per night, I'm not sure I could expect much more.

Good for a quick stay

Posted Oct 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We just needed a place for the night as we were traveling through, and the beds were super comfy!! The shower had hair in it and our toilet didn't flush, but other than that, it was a decent stay for the price.

stained ripped sheets bare bones not good

Posted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
very disappointing, room should have been vacuumed, no extra toilet paper, just two old bars of soap, bed comforter flat old, very used, only two flat pillows, no cups to drink from we had to go outside and back to front desk to get some cups, when you asked front desk staff where the local store was, or how to get to the falls, they would just point no tv converter. The worst was after, going out and site seeing all day and night, came back got undressed, pulled back the comforter, and there was a ripped sheet, a mattress pad with stains that I am hoping was grape juice it was horrible. I called front desk, a man came up twenty minutes later and handed me 2 sheets, the pillows were stained as well. We just were so tired i put one sheet over the pillows and mattress, the other on top of us, and that was that. Next morning at check out told them at front desk, no one seemed to care, said I would never come back, I felt I should not have paid full price, paint peeling off ceilings over the bed, It felt like a motel or hotel that should have been rented out by the hour in a movie, and did I mention if you wanted a second key it costs quite a bit extra. Very unhappy with the stay. and think that some one from hotels.ca should send a person in as a guest and see what it is like. Thank you, I never slam places or people, I know we all have our bad days, but this was a very important trip for us
