“very good for the money”
We just nee a place to rest over night. The hotel was not fancy but was very clean and the price was decent. Breakfast was OK, cereals, gem, butter, tea, orange juice and bagels.
“Niagara's best kept secret!”
This hotel is Niagara's best kept secret. Yes, it's NOT on the main drag, and YES, there's no pool....but if you need a safe, clean, decent place to stay, you can NOT beat the price. The fridge/freezer and microwave came in handy. Also: there is a laundry room for those who would like to pack light. The facility was clean, the breakfast was simple fare that is in any standard "free" breakfast. And actually, this was the freshest I've had in my travels this summer. Beds are a bit small, seem to be a standard bed so if you are a larger person, this could be an issue. If you need a hairdryer or iron however, plan to bring your own. We wish we had time to visit the student run winery, brewery, restuarant and greenhouse while there. We also liked that we were supporting an educational facility and students. We would most definately go back.
“It was OK, very good price. Will go back.”
It was a little far from the Falls, it was very good for the price and well kept.
“will definately return”
We have stayed there 3 times already, and will definately return.
“Can't beat the Price”
If you like to stay away from the big cities this is the right place. It is a 20 minutes drive to Niagara Falls. Very relaxing and quiet. I was impressed with the condition and maintenance of the hotel since this is a student dormitory during the school year. The price is excellent.
“Took a chance & glad we did”
We were looking for a reasonable place to stay on a visit to the Welland Canal and to the Shaw festival. We read the previous reviews and decided that for the price we couldn't go wrong. We were very pleased with this "hotel." It is a dorm during the school year that they rent out during the summer. There are two bedrooms in the suite, a bathroom and a kitchen area with a microwave, a full-size refridgerator and a table with chairs. Each bedroom has a double bed, a desk, and a TV. The price is for the suite. It was clean, quiet and very reasonably priced. Had everything we needed since we really didn't spend alot of time in the room. There is no common seating area, but we were fine watching TV in the bedrooms. The only inconvenient part of the set up of the bathroom. The lighting is dim (not great for applyiing makeup) and unlike most "real" hotels, the sink is not outside the bathroom so that someone can use that when the rest of the bathroom is in use. You can use the "kitchen" sink for tooth brushing. We did not try the breakfast, but it looked good. Apparently, several of the colleges in Ontario do this same thing during the summer. We definitely plan to check out other locations next summer. What a bargain, especially for families. If you want a fancy hotel with chocolates on the pillow, a pool, and extra pampering, this is not the place for you. If you want a clean, basic, comfortable place to stay for a very reasonable price, this is a great choice!
“Good price for simple hotel”
It was a good hotel for the price. Ultimately, it's a college dorm room... sparse but clean. Two decent sized rooms, small kitchen, and a ok-sized bathroom. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to the Falls or downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, but the campus is quiet and felt safe. For the price, it was wonderfully adequate. On a side note, if you're going to buy the Adventure Pass - don't buy it at the hotel - it's $10 more than if you buy it downtown in NF.
“Niagara College Residence & Conference Centre - NOTL Campus”
Elementary standard, but absolutly clean and the service is very friendly and qualified. Downtown Niagara on the lake is not in walking distance, about 10 min by car.
“Excellent Budget Option, Near Wineries”
I have been going to the Shaw Festival for years, but in this economy, it's hard to justify those pricey B&B's and overpriced lunches-for-two...The campus offers a great alternative. It's close to many wineries, near the highway to the Canadian Falls, about a 20 minute drive from the Festival Theatre, and has a fridge, sink, and microwave that allow for mini-meals. My only real complaints: the breakfast was stark (tiny apples and oranges, toast, bagels, cream cheese, and beverages) and the bathroom has horrible lighting (had to plug two lamps into the bathroom to apply my makeup). I would definitely return--but would pack some peanut butter for my breakfast bagel. The bedss are cozy, the basic cable nice, and they accept pets.
“We had a pleasant stay”
The beds were rather small, but overall I was comfortable. The rooms were very clean and quiet. I would have liked to see an alarm clock and maybe a hairdryer in the rooms, but I managed with out. I used my cell phone for an alarm. I'm sure I could have called for a wake up call, and maybe some ammenities might have been available upon request but I didn't ask. The continental breakfast was very well stocked and maintained. We had a pleasant stay.
