A Great Week

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Cons: Give us the Toronto Star not what you currently give us
We haved stayed a week at the Pillar and Post almost every year since 1982. That we keep coming back says more than mere words. Bob Gaines

Fantastic Place to Stay

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Not cheap, but our stay was very enjoyable! We took advantage of the on site restaurant for dinner, as well as the patio for lunch by the pool. Both were excellent. We also took the time to visit the downtown core and a vineyard, and found that there was really no need to leave the hotel. We will stay there again when in the area. Very relaxing. Our only regret was not staying for more than one night.

Lovely hotel with great pool

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The location, the rooms, the staff all super terrific.
Cons: The buffet breakfast was uninspiring and slightly overpriced. I did not try the lunch or dinner service.
Location: Easy 10 minute walk to main shopping streets and Shaw festival theaters, easy drive to wineries.
Stayed at Pillar and Post with my teenage daughter. Great room, wonderful property and really nice staff. The hotel was full to capacity because it was peak season, but it did not feel crowded. Really nice indoor and outdoor pools, really nice indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. 10 minute walk to the main shopping street or on-demand shuttle bus service.

Beautiful hotel close walk to downtown

Posted Aug 4, 2014
We only stayed for one night but immediately once we walked in we were amazed by how beautiful the place was. Our room was big and comfortable and the bed was actually very comfortable. It was about a 10min walk to the downtown, but the hotel also has a shuttle available if you don't want to walk. We had breakfast at the restaurant there the next morning and it was just as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. The food was also really good. Although the hotel and food were quite pricy we were very happy with our stay and would definetly stay for a night again in the future.

Nice but pricy

Posted Jul 29, 2014
First time in niagara on the lake and wanted to stay somewhere very nice and close to theaters and restaurants. This place met our expectations but is definitely in need of remodeling- especially carpets and furniture in guest rooms and shared areas. For the price we paid, I expected a bit more. Still the staff was very friendly and most everything is a bit overpriced in NOTL so it is to be expected.

Classy & comfortable

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Service, food and amenities
Cons: Lounge chairs on the lawns.
Location: Wine tours, biking, hiking, driving tours, shopping, theatre, river tours. Can easily do Niagara Falls without staying in Niagara Falls.
The hotel is classy, close to main st but not on main st so quiet. Amenities were fantastic (2 pools e.g.), service excellent, as was the restaurant. Very quiet and the rooms well appointed and of good size. Could have added a few lounge chairs on the grounds for those that don't want to sit by the pool. The free shuttle was a nice bonus - like having your own limo. Niagara-on-the-Lake area is a great destination for foodies & wine lovers. It was, of course, a quite expensive hotel but, in my estimation, worth the cost.
