Do not govthere

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
We made reservations for a non smoking room and were told that we had a smoking room.. Expedia had to call. Breakfast was awful, not even enough for everybody, not even the coffee was acceptable. worst one night hotel when attending a sports event.

It was okay

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Overall it wasn't bad but the light in our room weren't working. The had to turn on all the lamps. The washroom light was dim and so we left the door open when using it. We could have called front desk but they had problems checking us in so we didn't bother.

Dangerous Hotel

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Very little.
Cons: Nobody should stay at this hotel.
Location: Not close enough to the police station.
At 3 AM some men tried to enter my granddaughters room. We asked the front desk staff to call the police but they refused. The front desk staff then proceeded to defend the men because they were also staying at the hotel. The front desk staff was rude upon arrival. Belligerent about the incident where the men tried to force their way into my granddaughters room. This hotel does not have any regard for the safety of its guests. Nobady should stay at this hotel.

Good location, horrible room!

Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: The location.
Cons: The quality of cleaning the rooms.
Location: There are many fast food places as well as a few restaurants near by. there is also a nice bowling place a bit up the street.
The hotel was in a good location for getting around Niagara Falls. The staff were very friendly. The only thing I did not like was the room itself. There were stains on the bed and on the chairs which made me feel uncomfortable to sleep and sit on. The lock on the inside of the door was ripped off as well which made my comfort level a little lower. The washroom for the most part was clean and same with the pool.

Hotel was good and clean. When we entered our room it was cold. No heat was on we had to turn the heat on. It took almost a hour to warm up.

Uncared for property that could be nice

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Travel Lodge Bonaventure could be a nice place to stay if it weren't neglected. I had the impression that the owner-operators just don't care.
Cons: The owner-operators of this property need to keep everything very clean and in order. You do not win repeat business renting out bad rooms first.
Location: Niagara Falls is a fun place to visit, but Lundy's Lane Hotels are not near it. You still have to drive down to the Falls, the Parks and Clifton Hill.
Hotels and motels in Niagara Falls are cheap in the winter. $49 a night for a room with two Queen beds is standard in You don't expect the rooms to be well-aired, but you do expect the staff to be happy to see you and the rooms to be very clean due to under use. My children and I arrived while the desk clerk was involved in a conflict with another guest who wanted to cancel his reservation. While it was not loud or aggressive in any way, the clerk did nothing to address the problems with the cleanliness and placement of the other guest's room. I asked for a noon check out instead of 11am and was denied. We were given a room outside the main building on the ground floor. This meant we had smokers congregating around our door almost all the time. The room had a funny smell and my little girl kept saying, "I think someone has been smoking in here" and "Wow! They really need to use some Febreze." It was OK, the sheets were clean but the bed covers and blankets were dusty. My children prefer baths to showers and I had to go to the front desk to ask for a plug for the tub. We chose the hotel because the photographs of its indoor pool and hot tub were so inviting. While the pool looks nice, we get in to find a ring of dirt around the water line in both the pool and hot tub. The shower on the pool deck was broken, so we had to put our clothes back on chlorine covered bodies and go back to our room to shower and change. There were also no towels by the pool.

Cheap stay

Posted Jan 2, 2014
Good for what you pay. Don't expect much for breakfast though. Bagels, cereal, toast. One day no butter, next no coffee. We went to a small restaurant down the road for both of our mornings. Great breakfast for cheap. The people behind the desk were friendly and helpful.
