Not worth the stay!

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: It was available. Overall the room was clean.
Cons: Maintenance and general repair needs to be done. Also the room should be a neutral color not a green. Bed linens need to be maintained or replaced.
Location: Hotel is on a main road about two miles from Niagara Falls in Canada. Food is about a mile away.
The Tropicana is a older hotel and is in need of some TLC. But the real issues have to do with daily upkeep. First there were noticeable black marks on the wall next to the bathroom. The bathroom was clean and well kept, and had a nice ceramic tile floor. The television did not work. I was tired so I didn't bother with it. The bracket to hold the door chain along with a large chunk of door frame were missing as if the door may have been kick in. Also the door knob left a noticeable hole in the wall where it hits it. The bet spreads had a few holes/rips in them and the blanket underneath was either dirty or stained. The sheets and pillow cases were clean and fresh. Since all the other places were booked we stayed at the place. This was not an inexpensive hotel by any means! It is not worth the price we paid! With an adult book store next door this was not a place to bring a family.

Scary experience!

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Water pressure was good.
Cons: Very old and need overhaul. New beds etc.
Location: 10 minute drive to falls.
Last resort hotel. Some courtesy at front desk but only the RIF RAF stays there. Wasn't even suitable for a single guy never mind taking your wife or family.

Clean and cheap

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Clean and cheap
Cons: They desperately need to buy new towels for the bathroom! Mine were like sandpaper.
Location: Mom & Pop type restaurant next to the motel office. Sundowners gentleman's club a very short walk away. Also, two massage spa's right next door.
I've stayed at the Tropicana Inn many times. In short, it's cheap, it's "mostly" clean, and an adequate place to stay a night or two on Lundy's Lane. For my most recent visit, the bathroom facilities were impeccably clean. But they really need to buy new linen and towels, which were both, obviously.....VERY old and used. Albeit, they WERE clean. Air conditioner worked fine. Front desk person was fine. Easy to check in. Safe parking lot. I've never had a problem with my rental in the lot. Two BIG pluses about the Tropicana Inn are: There is a small "Mom & Pop" type restaurant next to the motel office that serves an AMAZING breakfast. And for a good value! And, Sundowners gentleman's club is a short walk away...if you're interested in that sort of entertainment.

It was dirty, there was no garbage other than a little one in the bathroom yet they provide a fridge. The house cleaners changed the towels but were to lazy to make the beds even though there was nothing on them. Overall it was dirty smelly and down right gross :(

I want a full refund for this hotel.

This place is very expensive for bad quality. The tv is 20 years old, the carpet was smelly and the location is in the far distance from niagara falls. Not recommended at all.

well not go there again

Posted Jul 10, 2014
the reception clerk was friendly and polite so I have nothing to say about the service. but the room OMG! I felt like no renovation were done after 1970. bed was well used but the sheets were clean. washroom floor was dirty and the shower faucet did not work. you turn on the water and pay of it would leak from the shower head and the rest from the faucet neck but not at the same temp. I told my wife not to shower.
