Great place for anyone who wants something different from a cookie-cutter hotel.
The woman who serves as your host speaks great English and is available to
help you in any way. Location is close to important parts of town and is very
quiet. Parking is free. My wife and I thoroughly were glad we booked this hotel.
(We stayed in Rm. 23 which even had 2 separate sinks.)
There is a wonderful Italian restaurant called Davisto within walking distance of about 10 minutes on 17, rue Saint Philippe. I would say it was the best meal we had in nearly 3 weeks in France. The hotel
host will tell you how to get there.

This apartment hotel is located near main shopping streets, and will take 15 min to old City. We stayed ( family of four- two teenage boys) in a 1 bedroom apartment, very spacious, and comfy. Kitchen was well equipped, bathroom very clean, bedroom spacious, and had a little balcony. Could be bit noisy at night but if you close the windows- you would hear nothing. We stayed in October, ( 10-17) and the weather was perfect ( 25 C) every day. We ate out all the time, loads of restaurants in the area. Took the train to Caan and Monte Carlo. and also took the train de Marvellieux to Tende ( French Apls ) very interesting . the owner was very professional and very helpful. We have arranged a Taxi ourselves, but you can take the bus to the airport from Nice railway station , 5 min walk from the hotel, or even a taxi - not expensive. We really enjoyed our trip to Nice, and be careful, while on the promenade, you may meet someone famoures ( like we did- we met Roy Hodgson - England manager and took photos together)-

We had great weather which set the theme for our 4 night break. We go on city breaks to explore the cities and Nice has a small but interesting blend of attractions.
Not being adventurous when it comes to food, we didnt really try the many many restraunts but if you love food then you will love Nice.
Loved walking down the Promanade people watching as we went.
One of the nicest things was the friendliness of the people of Nice, you get a hello and goodbye as you walk in shops and if you stop to look at your map, there is a good chance that some one will stop and ask if they can help you.

Vence was not easy to find, but once we found Vence, the hotel was easy to find. The hotel was very old and charming and had a good parking area and a nice pool and outside sitting area. The proprietor, Max was very friendly and helpful. The room was very cute and comfortable. The bathroom decor was a little garish, but the bathroom was large and everything worked great. The patio off the front of our room was a nice touch so we could sit out in the evening and enjoy our wine and appetizers. Since it was a little off the main streets of town it was quiet. WIFI worked great. Grocery store and many restaurants within walking distance.

Very centrally located. Room a little small but by European standards big enough. Everything else was great, well kept, decent cooking facilities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall I doubt you can find a hotel in Nice that gives you a better bigger bang for your buck then this place.

Hotel de Verdun is right in the heart of Nice, close to the central Massena Square, shops, beach, restaurants, and not far from art museums. Bus services are convenient and economical. Take the number 98 from the airport (or the 99 service if staying further north in the station area) and a short walk to the hotel. Standard fare was 6 euros. Other routes about Nice and the surrounding area can be conveniently reached for a solo fare of 1.50 euro, as is a single trip on the tram. Day tickets can also be purchased.
But the beaches are wonderful, the sun shines a lot, and a stroll down lively Promenade des Anglais with its musicians, beach restaurants, and promenaders from many nations makes for a relaxing and pleasant afternoon.
I was made welcome and always treated with great courtesy everywhere in Nice.

I found this hotel to be one of the best in Nice! We’ve stayed several places from high end to budget and this was definitely a good choice. The staff was consistently pleasant and eager to help. Our room was an Expedia VIP upgrade and was more than large enough for us. We were very welcome and felt at home.
