Great hotel near all the actionPosted Nov 25, 2013
Great hotel near the Main Street and walking distance to old Nice, the beach and the train station. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful while booking the train. Most staff spoke English. Our room had a bathtub which is a rare find in France hotels while on a budget. The only drawback was the garbage and bottle pickup on the street at night. Sometimes it sounded like your window was open. All in all it is a great hotel!

Hotel BorealPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: Location, quietness, staff
Location: excellent location, lovely eating place next door and good small mini-market type shop.
Hotel very well located, staff exceptionally pleasant and helpful, very comfortable and clean, value for money. Only let down was that some redecoration is needed.

Not too bad for the price we paid.Posted Oct 12, 2013
Pros: Staff were fine....English spoken. Clean and presentable.
Cons: A lift to the attic rooms.Installation of a proper bar.
Location: An abundance of eating out places, plenty of high class shops.Lots of interesting architecture and of course the Promenade des Anglais to stroll along.
We had an attic room which required the navigation of 66 stairs....it was as requested quiet. The bonus was that we had a large bedroom with a very large en-suite....other rooms were small and ordinary.Breakfast was good in comparison to most continental offerings.Pity the hotel doesn't have a bar to speak of. Towels changed daily, room service was good.Hotel well situated for train, bus and tram services.the main shopping street is adjacent and includes a new shopping center. Overall a pleasant enough place to spend a short break.

Quiet hotel centrally locatedPosted Oct 4, 2013
Our room was located on the third floor in a part of the hotel not served by a lift. Not ideal when you are carrying luggage. The room was rather plainly decorated but had everything we needed including a kettle and coffee/tea which is unusual in France. Breakfast was standard fare but not bad value at €10pp. Reception staff were very helpful eg with info on public transport and places to visit.

Old and tired hotelPosted Oct 3, 2013
Overall this place was disappointing. While we realise that rooms are expensive in Nice we'd pay more and stay somewhere better next time. It is well located in the centre of Nice and a comfortable stroll to the famous Cote D'Azur beach front, handy to all sorts of shopping etc the hotel is old and tired. There was no lift to reach our room on the second floor, the room small, the bed only a double and just had a foam rubber mattress on a spring base. Not very comfortable at all. Bedding was only a very thick duvet far too hot for the conditions and there were no other bedding options, not even a top sheet on the bed. Uncomfortable pillows. No fridge in the room. The bathroom was newer than the rest of the room and quite OK and had a shower over the bath. Breakfast buffet included in our tariff was OK but very crowded with insufficient space for all the people it could seat to get to the food. Staff did not keep all items available, e.g. eggs were not replenished so I went without. To end on a positive note, reception staff were very friendly and as helpful as they could be but the place is really not of an acceptable standard.

Good central locationPosted Sep 26, 2013
Room was small but clean, neat and tidy. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Six minutes walk from Place Massena and Place Magenta, Under ten minutes to the railway station and the old town. Decent breakfast for ten Euros.

Great value and locationPosted Sep 22, 2013
Pros: Location Staff Comfortable room
Cons: Change carpet in room
Location: 2-3 blocks from main square as well as pedestrian shopping street. 8 mins walk from the beach.
Got to the hotel at 10:30am - they had the room ready in less than 30 minutes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is about 5 mins from the train station and a couple of blocks from many of the attractions. Highly recommend.

excellent location, comfortable hotel.Posted Aug 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed here with family for 4 nights in July 2013. I stayed here before, 4 years ago and the hotel was as comfortable as before. The rooms are small but clean. The bathroom is modern, bright, fairly spacious and clean. The hotel has an excellent location in the centre of Nice, close to the main high street shops, short distance to the station and the beach. The breakfast is continental and has everything you could want including hot food. It's not a luxury hotel but much cheaper than a 4 star hotel in Nice. It's comfortable and convenient. I would stay here again.
