lovely view from the hotel bedroom.Posted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Almost everything
Location: good location, beach across the road, museum next door, close to the centre of town with shops etc.
We booked dinner in the Brasserie restaurant of the hotel. we ordered a Pasta followed by two different fish dishes. The Pasta arrived cold and in a very watery tomato sauce, it was returned to the kitchen to be re-heated. Our main course arrived some 45 minutes later, mine was again cold and my wife's fish was only half cooked. Not a good experience in such a well known hotel! Having complained to the duty manager of the hotel all we were told was "sorry, and we won't be charging you for the meal" (you bet I won't be charged for the meal!). The hotel advertise "Free Wi fi in the room" but it did not work and reception told us that the signal is very poor in the room but better in the business centre on the first floor! We do not recommend this hotel and shall not be returning!

Good restaurant but don't stay at hotelPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Location and the very nice Chanteclaire restaurant. Go to the restaurant but don't stay at the hotel.
Cons: Service was appalling for 5 stars. 5 star rating should be downgraded. Breakfast was dreadful for the price. Needs refurbishment.
Location: Close to beach, shops, Tourist Bureau and other hotels with better facitlites/cafes.
We stayed for a 3 nights for a special occasions were expecting something to remember. However, we quickly realised that we'd stayed in much better hotels in France that had less stars and were much cheaper. The concierge was very unhelpful and we got much better assistance with booking tours from the Tourist Bureau up the street. They don't have an iron or ironing board in the room "for safety reasons". I've never heard of this before. Any ironing has to be sent to the housemaid. To have one shirt ironed cost 11 Euros! We were told the evening before our day of departure by the concierge that they wouldn't book us a taxi because of a triathlon that was on during that morning and that the road would be closed. This was really upsetting at the time as we were really concerned about missing our train. The worst thing was that it turned out not to be true. The road wasn't closed and we were able to get a taxi the following morning. We got the impression that they couldn't be bothered doing anything for us. We paid an extra A$50 each to have breakfast and I was expecting something special for this money. However, I was disappointed again as the breakfast was basic and we had much better in other hotels for a fraction of this price. It was a total rip off.

Hotel of history and for memoryPosted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: position and history. Close to the beach. Close to the centre.
Cons: Some more details about the founder not exclusive about the actual owner.
Location: Everything excellent. Not far from the best places to be visited.
Ecellent place for relaxing, mixt with walking posibilities more than atractive and a nice landscape.

Perfect decedent honeymoonPosted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: Art collection and friendly staff as well as the huge comfy bed
Cons: Paint in the bathroom and include private beech as part of the stay
Location: Use the Neptune beach, shop in Nice ville, dinner at 2* Chanteclaire, bus to Monaco for the day
What an incredible experience, like staying in a museum/art gallery. Decor may not be to everyone's taste, and paint a little cracked in bedroom. Also may have expected the private beach to be included in the stay. Overall however this is a once in a lifetime hotel to try!

Lovely character hotelPosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: The unusual character and artwork
Location: The hotel has its own private beach front, there is a cost to use this.
Excellent location, fantastic artwork. Large rooms with big bathrooms which have a deep bath and shower. All the toiletries are Fragonard. Beautifully clean. The staff are very discreet but helpful. The breakfast is well worth the cost.

Fantastic location with great service.Posted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Art collection and architecture.
Cons: amenities such as the shower could do with an upgrade. Lights in the shower would be nice. Also, a bigger double bed would help.
Location: Beach is just a stone throw away. Main shopping street is a few mins walk to the left of the hotel and lots of lovely cafe to the right on exit.
First time at Negresco. Found the hotel to be absolutely lovely. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. However, the amenities could really do with an upgrade. The room was generally clean and the art collection on display adds to the character of the hotel.
