Nice view of VencePosted May 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
The panoramic view of Vence is the main attraction point of this hotel. It is a bit dated but the maintenance work done by the owner deserved the credit. The little drawback is the sound proof of the room.

A beautifully tranquil oasis in the foothills AlpsPosted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: As above
Location: As above
The hotel is a quirky, peaceful place surrounded by flowers with breathtaking views. The pool is perfect, always a spot to doze on very comfortable loungers overlooking the Alps. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit and warm bread and croissants, unlimited tea and coffee, fruit juice etc. I went away on my own for a few days and couldn't have wished for a mo delightful place to stay. It is safe, quiet and good for the soul. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the ancient town of Vence which has everything you need. The bus costs 1 euro 50 to Nice (a taxi somewhere in the region of 50 euros!) An excellent find!

Stuck in the past, not customer friendlyPosted Apr 25, 2013
More like a dormitory than a hotel. Manager there only a few hours and you are left on your own with a door access code to "buzz" the main entrance. Lavatories don't drain. In your bathroom you can hear when neighboring rooms are flushing toilets due to plumbing deficiencies. NO WI-FI available. Beware not to bring any drinks or food in your room, you will be fined as per the room guide book warns you once you settle in the room; it reads “in case of non-respect and taken of personal drinks, a fixed price of 10 Euros will be taken by person”. Rooms are humid and the building could use some TLC.

Hotel with great view of Cote d'AzurePosted Jan 19, 2013
Pros: The view of the Cote d'Azur
We've stayed at Hotel Miramar twice, once in the summer of 2006 and recently in December of 2012. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very helpful. The view of the Cote d'Azur and mountains is one of the hotel highlights. Once traveling as a family of 5 we stayed in a separate small building accessible through the garden in the back of the hotel. Our recent stay had is one of the rooms in the main hotel building. The rooms and hotel are well kept and clean. We enjoy the convenience of and pleasure of a 10 minute walking into the old town of Vence.

Excellent hotelPosted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: The comfort of the room and the view.
Cons: There was only one chair in the room.
Location: Just seven minutes' walk from the historic centre.
We were returning to Vence after five years, during which time our favourite hotel had gone out of business, so we chose the Miramar by default. However, we were delighted with every aspect of our stay. On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to a superior room with a balcony and view of the mountains. The room was lovely - well-decorated, clean, with adjustable radiators which ensured the temperature was always just right, there was a deep bath and a large enough bed for a 6ft 2in guest. It had excellent linen and a very comfortable mattress. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was beautifully maintained every day. We shall definitely return to the Miramar.

Fine stay. Not luxurious. Great view. Town just OK. Hotel manager has no customer service skills.

All in all a good placePosted Jul 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
We spent three nights here and enjoyed being able to walk into the old town. We had read about the nearby soccer field/sports complex but luckily there were no games scheduled during our stay. However, it was a place for young people to hang out late at night and this was near our balcony and could get loud. Noise was more of a problem early in the morning from families with young children breakfast-ing on the terrace below our balcony! Breakfast was far below our expectations and many of the cups and silverware put our for use were not clean. Also- although there are lovely terraces and places to sit out on this property - you are not allowed to open a bottle of wine and relax there until the owner closes his "bar". We assume the same was true about eating breakfast outdoors before the 10:30 ending of the breakfast that was offered for additonal fees. We found the owner to be "civil" but far from warm or helpful. Overall we would stay there agin but not ever eat the breakfast.
