Overall ok.Posted Nov 18, 2013
got a window facing nothing but an empty dark courtyard, when most rooms have a street window and hotel seemed to be mostly unnocupied....would be good to know why??? Still service was good.

Hard to find a better locationPosted Nov 11, 2013
We stayed at the Univers for the Fri & Sat nights of a busy weekend (there was a marathon on, albeit out of peak holiday season). The best part of this hotel is bar far the location. Very close to eateries, bars & common areas, right on the tram line, and only a few small blocks from the beach in one direction and the main train station in the other. Given the location there was a bit of late night noise but nothing excessive. Offsite parking was 5 mins away. We found this hotel excellent value or money for these reasons.

Great Location for the Price!Posted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel has a terrific location and for the price it's a great deal. But the single rooms are very small and it's the only hotel on this trip that charged for using the Internet in the lobby

Perfect stayPosted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed in Nice for 7 nights at this hotel. Originally had planned for only a few days but the accommodations, location, and staff attentiveness convinced me to extend the stay at this hotel. Close to main areas of interest in Nice and/or easy access to transportation options; bus, tram, train, or best yet walking routes. Staff provide 24 hour presence at the reception desk; as a woman traveling alone, I found this comforting. Every inquiry to staff from local laundry services to sites to visit beyond Nice were met w/ a smile, information easily explained, and map guide as a visual aid. Rooms were basic in this historical building; well maintained and clean w/ attention to detail. An excellent value for anyone wanting a trip to Nice which includes the cultural ambience of the French beyond glitz and glitter.

This hotel had great location. Very close to Messina square and a short walk to the Promenade de Anglais. It's an easy walk to/from the train station and the tram was less than a block away.

Great locationPosted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Location & free wifi
Cons: Bathroom was small with a sloping ceiling, this might have been a problem for someone taller than 5'2"
Location: Very central, plenty of shops & restaurants nearby
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is in a great central location, with plenty of shops, restaurants & transportation options available. Staff were friendly & welcoming, my room was even ready early (& that never happens!).

Great location, good price, nice room. Closer to the main drag than I even thought.
