Graceful hotel in middle of town.Posted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Great staff, nice decor, a bathtub, a good sized closet, a refrigerator, a lovely public living area near reception. Great location.
Cons: The walls were a bit thin, so could hear a bit of one's neighbors. More plug outlets in the room would have been helpful.
Location: Could walk to practically everything. The promenade was near as was the old town and the main shopping avenue. Museums were a bit farther.
Lovely, helpful staff. Recommended a wonderful restaurant within walking distance. Hotel is central and close to everything. The decor is belle epoque and very charming. The rooms are a good size, as are the bathrooms and well appointed. I had a balcony with a nice table and chairs. I really appreciated the tea kettle with coffee and tea if one wanted and a refrigerator came in handy. The room was a little noisy, but not too bad. The staff was extremely helpful with my needs.

Hotel Vendome iin Nice Fr is very nice!Posted Aug 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was a little bit of a walk from the train station, but centrally located for the beach (five minute walk) and the old town (5 minute walk). The staff was very helpful and there is a coin wash for your clothes right at the corner, which was very convenient!

Pros: very pleasing decor; very helpful staff
Cons: sitting room/TV room rather dingy
Location: very convenient
Very comfortable hotel in the heart of Nice; the room was small but bright and pleasant with good bathroom. Some very nice period features in the hotel. Staff very friendly and very helpful.

A typical, unashamed French 3-starPosted Jul 15, 2013
Our room was small and rather drab and there were a couple of leaks in the bathroom but overall, we lacked nothing. Fridge, good air-con in July, a lift, clean with a decent-sized bathroom, and most crucially - brilliant location.

Could be nice if you get the right roomPosted Jul 8, 2013
Cons: the family rooms
Location: very pleasant
The hotel is a characterful place with nicely decorated public rooms and is conveniently located close to the old town and the conference center (10min walk). Unfortunately, the hotel has converted some rooms to a "family room" by adding a mezzanine floor with double bed and en-suite. The result is that everything feels squeezed in and the shower upstairs in my room was impossible for anyone over 5ft to use and so I had to use the second shower room down the spiral stairs. This was also very low and anyone over 6ft would have to bend the knees to get under the shower. I didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment. I really only needed a bed and a shower as I was out at a conference all day and evening, but if I were to stay again I would insist that I had a standard double room which do look much nicer in the photos.

Very friendly staffPosted Jun 1, 2013
The hotel was in a good location not too far from the train station and within walking distance to restaurants. The interior is older but clean.

Good for the price and locationPosted May 17, 2013
Pros: interesting old building and location very central for sea and station
Cons: Noise from the plumbing due to inadequate sound insulationin the bathroom ceiling and door not fitting tight
Location: Central good for the bus on the Promenade Anglais for the airport and a short walk to the Place Massena for the shops, and the Gare du Nice.
Good location and an interesting old building. The breakfast was extra but if you went to a local cafe and bought several cups of coffee, croissants, bacon etc. it would cost more, so it was pretty good value as you can eat as much as you want. The only real criticism was that the building is old has been renovated, but where the bathrooms are they have not put in adequate soundproofing in the ceilings, so hence when the neighbouring rooms flushed their toilets or ran their bath or shower you can hear the water flow, and in the night that is disturbing. Unfortunately the bathroom door does not fit tight so you cannot shut the noise out either. Otherwise it is pretty good value for money for the destination and location.

Unpretentious, comfortable place , well situatedPosted Oct 22, 2012
Pros: tea maker in rooms
Cons: cramped dining area with too many tables and chairs
Breakfast at 15 euros a bit on the high side for a cramped little dining room, however it was more than adequate if you were hungry

French and unsophisticatedPosted Jun 14, 2012
Great value for money and true French decor makes a change from modern hotels with no character.
